Is GTA 6 delayed again? The November 19 date, explained

GTA 6 has not been delayed again. As of October 14, 2026, Grand Theft Auto VI is still set for Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is 36 days away. Rockstar Games last moved the date in November 2025 and has not changed it since.

What Rockstar said each time

May 2, 2025. “Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on May 26, 2026. We are very sorry that this is later than you expected,” Rockstar wrote, adding that it needed “this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.”

November 6, 2025. “Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” The post went up at 9:05 p.m. ET, the same day as Take-Two’s quarterly report.

Both delays came with a Take-Two press release the same day. Both came with an apology and a quality reason. Neither came with a warning in advance.

Signs the date is holding

Since November 2025, everything official points at November 19:

November 9, 2026 — Take-Two reports its second quarter after the market closes, with a call at 4:30 p.m. ET. It is the last scheduled earnings report before launch, and the November 2025 delay was announced on an earnings day. November 12 is preload day: if the full download unlocks, the date is effectively locked.

Rumors of a third delay or a “2027” date do not come from Rockstar or Take-Two. This page is updated the moment either company says anything new about the date.
