GTA 6 is PS5 Pro Enhanced. The game’s page on PlayStation’s site carries Sony’s “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label, and Sony’s FAQ says Grand Theft Auto VI is available “on PS5 and PS5 Pro on November 19, 2026.” What the Pro version actually improves — frame rate, resolution, ray tracing — has not been announced.

What is confirmed for PlayStation

Sony’s FAQ is blunt about older consoles: the game “will only be playable on PlayStation 5 consoles. It will not be available for PlayStation 4 consoles.”

What “PS5 Pro Enhanced” means

Sony uses the label for games set up to take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s extra graphics power. It is a promise that the game does something more on the Pro — not a promise of a specific frame rate or resolution. Each game decides how to use it, and Rockstar has not said what it does with GTA 6.

Rockstar itself does not mention the PS5 Pro in any of its 12 GTA 6 Newswire posts. The label comes from Sony’s side.

30 fps or 60 fps?

Not announced. Rockstar and Sony have not published a frame rate, a resolution or a list of graphics modes — not for the PS5, not for the PS5 Pro and not for Xbox Series X|S. Numbers going around online do not come from either company.

What is known: Rockstar and Take-Two said all of Trailer 2’s footage was “captured on PlayStation 5,” and the 26-minute An Extended Look was “captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.” Rockstar did not say whether that was a standard PS5 or a Pro.

The DualSense features Sony lists

  • Haptic feedback— vibration that changes with what is happening on screen.
  • Adaptive triggers— resistance in the L2 and R2 triggers.
  • Controller speaker— some sound plays from the DualSense itself.
  • Tempest 3D Audio— Sony’s 3D sound for headphones and TV speakers.
  • SSD loading— Sony describes loads as “near-instant.”

PlayStation and the GTA 6 marketing

The game’s official site says “Plays Best On PlayStation 5” — a marketing deal with Sony. It does not mean a timed exclusive: the Xbox Series X|S version launches the same day, November 19.

This page is updated as soon as Rockstar or Sony publishes GTA 6’s performance details for PS5 and PS5 Pro.
