Yes, GTA 6 is on Xbox. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on Thursday, November 19, 2026, the same day as the PlayStation 5 version. It costs $79.99 on the Microsoft Store, or $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition.

What the Microsoft Store lists

The $20 Ultimate upgrade is sold separately on the Microsoft Store, so you can start with the Standard Edition and move up later.

Xbox Series S: will it run GTA 6?

Yes — the Series S is part of the Xbox Series X|S family, and the game is listed for both consoles. What Rockstar has not published is how it runs: no frame rate, no resolution and no graphics modes for the Series S, the Series X or either PlayStation. Claims that the Series S version is cut down, or that it will hold Xbox back, do not come from Rockstar or Microsoft.

No Xbox One version

Rockstar’s release-date posts, from Trailer 1 on, name “PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S,” and Take-Two’s earnings tables list the same two platforms. The Microsoft Store catalog lists the game for the current console generation only. Sony says the same about its side: “It will not be available for PlayStation 4 consoles.”

Is GTA 6 on Game Pass?

Not announced. Neither Microsoft nor Rockstar has said GTA 6 is coming to Game Pass, and the store sells it as a regular purchase. Rockstar has its own membership, GTA+, for today’s GTA Online and a library of Rockstar games, and digital pre-orders of GTA 6 include one month of it — but GTA+ is not Game Pass.

Same day as PlayStation

The game’s site says “Plays Best On PlayStation 5,” which is a marketing deal with Sony. It does not delay Xbox: both versions unlock at midnight Eastern Time on November 19, and digital pre-orders on both preload from November 12.
