Images and video

Every image and video on Pogwire has a clear origin and the right to be shown.

Video

Trailers and gameplay videos are embedded from the publisher’s or organizer’s own official channel, and the channel is named under each one. We do not re-upload or edit them. The poster frame is stored on Pogwire and the video loads only when you press play, so nothing from the video host is loaded before that.

Images

  • Official press assets— screenshots, key art and product photos that publishers and manufacturers release for news coverage. They appear only in stories about that game or device, with the owner named under each picture. Every image is listed on Photo credits.
  • Openly licensed photos— photos released under licenses that allow reuse (such as Creative Commons Attribution), with the author and license shown in the credit line.
  • Pogwire illustrations— when the owner has published no images, we draw an illustration of a general scene, credited “Illustration: © Pogwire”. It never shows real people, game characters or logos and is never presented as a photo.
  • Pogwire covers— until a story has an image, it gets a typographic cover in the section color instead of a stock photo.

We never pass off concept art, fan art or AI-generated images as real screenshots.
