Where store links appear
Store links appear only inside a box marked “Where to buy,” mostly in deal guides around sales such as Black Friday. The rest of every story follows our newspaper rule: no links to outside sites.
How we get paid
Links in a “Where to buy” box can be affiliate links from programs run by stores and by the networks that manage them. If you click one and buy something, the store may pay us a small share of the sale. You pay the same price either way.
What never changes
Stores do not pay for a place in our stories, do not see stories before publication and cannot ask us to change them. We pick products and prices first, then look for where to buy them. Every price in a box carries the date we checked it, and prices change often, so check the store before you buy.
