K/DA Firestarter: the comeback single is out, the EP arrives Oct. 21, and here's the new lineup

K/DA is back, with a new single, a new EP date and two new voices. Here’s when Firestarter came out, who sings it and what’s next for the group.

When did K/DA Firestarter come out?

Riot Games released the Firestarter music video on YouTube on Oct. 18, 2026, at 6:55 p.m. PT, and put it at the top of the League of Legends news page at 10 p.m. ET. Its tagline is a dare: can you take the heat? By the morning of Oct. 19, the video had almost 4 million views.

The single opens a new era for K/DA, the virtual pop group made up of League of Legends champions, and it lands in the middle of the 2026 World Championship, the same stage where K/DA debuted in 2018.

The Firestarter EP on Oct. 21. The Firestarter EP comes out on Wednesday, Oct. 21, according to Riot’s video credits, and pre-saves are open on streaming services. Riot hasn’t announced the full track list.

That date falls during the first week of Worlds 2026, whose Swiss Stage starts on Oct. 23, as our Worlds 2026 schedule page tracks.

The new K/DA lineup. Firestarter is sung by MIYEON and SOYEON of i-dle, Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb. MIYEON and SOYEON are the link to the original group: they sang on POP/STARS in 2018, when the group was credited as (G)I-DLE, alongside Madison Beer and Jaira Burns. Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb are the new voices.

The song was written by David Dahlquist, Ashley Fulton, Georgia Ku, Aejin Kwon, Sebastien Najand and James Norton, and produced by Kill Dave and Sebastien Najand. Like K/DA’s earlier songs, it switches between English and Korean.

Fortiche, the French animation studio behind Arcane, made the video in partnership with Riot, and Sean Bankhead choreographed it. It runs 3:27, and the key art shows the four members of K/DA in red stage outfits against a dark, burning backdrop, a sharp turn from the purple and crystal looks of the group’s earlier eras.

The official Firestarter music video is on the League of Legends YouTube channel, and Riot features it on the news page of the League of Legends site. The single is up for pre-save on streaming services through Riot’s link, and the full Firestarter EP follows on Oct. 21.

Riot hasn’t announced a live K/DA performance. The group’s 2018 debut came with a live show at the World Championship opening ceremony, and the Worlds 2026 final on Nov. 14 is the biggest stage left this season, though Riot hasn’t named its performers.

Riot hasn’t confirmed new K/DA skins or a release date for them. Every past K/DA era came with a skin line: the original K/DA skins for Ahri, Akali, Evelynn and Kai’Sa, with Prestige versions, the K/DA ALL OUT line, which added Seraphine in three versions, and the 2022 Prestige K/DA editions.

K/DA debuted with POP/STARS, released on Nov. 3, 2018, at the World Championship in South Korea, and the video has more than 668 million views on YouTube. The group returned for the ALL OUT era with Seraphine as a featured artist.

Firestarter caps a big season for Riot’s virtual bands. True Damage presented the Worlds 2026 anthem and gets new Know My Name skins, HEARTSTEEL Live My Life arrived with Patch 26.20, and Pentakill features on the Worlds 2026 orchestral theme, released on Oct. 12. Riot also sells a limited-edition True Damage “Know My Name” 7-inch vinyl. Worlds 2026 brings 19 teams together over 30 days.
