LYON vs TSW at Worlds 2026: Friday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. ET, in a best-of-one rematch of MSI

The last game of Round 1 is a rematch from July, and the team that lost 3-0 has had three months to prepare. Here’s when LYON vs TSW starts in every time zone, who plays and what the MSI series says about it.

What time is LYON vs TSW?

Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET, which is 5 p.m. PT and 7 p.m. local time in Allen, Texas. Riot’s official schedule lists it as the eighth and last Round 1 game of the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage. Play starts at 1 p.m. ET with Gen.G vs. Invictus Gaming, one game an hour, and T1 vs LOS comes right before it at 7 p.m. ET.

Each game starts when the previous one ends, so the 8 p.m. slot shifts later on a day of long games, and as the closing game it takes every delay of the day. All eight games are at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, north of Dallas, which hosts the Swiss Stage, the quarterfinals and the semifinals before the final moves to Brooklyn on Nov. 14.

LYON vs TSW time around the world

The game falls on Friday evening in the Americas and on Saturday morning in Asia. In Mexico City, it starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, and in Brazil at 9 p.m. Friday, Brasília time. In Vietnam, where TSW’s five players come from, fans watch at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, and in Manila at 8 a.m. In Korea, home of LYON’s Saint and Berserker, it’s 9 a.m. Saturday.

Europe gets a late night: 1 a.m. Saturday in London and 2 a.m. in Paris, Berlin and Warsaw. Clocks in Europe change on Oct. 25 and in the US on Nov. 1, so these times hold only for this game.

The MSI 2026 rematch

LYON and TSW met once in 2026, and it wasn’t close. On July 8, in the lower bracket of MSI 2026 in Daejeon, South Korea, LYON won 3-0 and knocked TSW out of the tournament. LoL Esports lists three games played and the fourth and fifth unneeded, with LYON on the blue side in all three.

Both teams had taken a hard road to that series. TSW opened MSI with a 3-0 loss to Hanwha Life Esports on July 3, then beat Top Esports 3-1 on July 5. LYON swept FURIA 3-0 on July 4 before Bilibili Gaming sent it down with a 3-0 of its own on July 6. The Texas game is a best-of-one, so TSW needs one good draft instead of three wins in a row, and that changes the math.

The pairing comes from the draw tiers. TSW was in Tier 2 and LYON in Tier 3, and Tier 2 teams faced Tier 3 teams in Round 1. Our Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage page has all eight matchups and the tiers.

LYON: two LCS titles and an MSI podium

LYON, the Mexico-born organization, had the best first half of any LCS team. It beat Cloud9 Kia 3-1 in the LCS final on March 1, then swept Team Liquid Alienware 3-0 in the final on June 14 to reach MSI. In Daejeon, after the TSW series, LYON beat G2 Esports 3-0 on July 10 and pushed Hanwha Life to five games in the lower bracket final on July 11, losing 3-2 and finishing third. Hanwha Life went on to win MSI the next day, 3-2 over Bilibili Gaming.

The fall was tougher. LYON lost 3-1 to Cloud9 Kia in the playoffs on Sept. 19, then beat Shopify Rebellion 3-1 and Cloud9 Kia 3-1 to reach the final, where Team Liquid Alienware won 3-1 on Oct. 4. The roster, according to LoL Esports, is Dhokla in the top lane, Inspired in the jungle, Saint in the mid lane, Berserker as the bot laner and Isles as the support.

TSW: three LCP titles in 2026

Team Secret Whales owns the Asia Pacific league. TSW beat Relove Deep Cross Gaming 3-0 in the LCP final on March 1, beat the same team 3-1 in the final on June 7 and took the last title of the season by sweeping CTBC Flying Oyster 3-0 on Aug. 30, after a 3-1 win over GAM Esports and another 3-0 over CTBC Flying Oyster in the playoffs.

International play has been harder. At First Stand in March, TSW lost 3-0 to both G2 Esports and BNK FearX, and at MSI the run ended against LYON. The lineup is Pun in the top lane, Hizto in the jungle, Dire in the mid lane, Eddie as the bot laner and Bie as the support.

Who wins LYON vs TSW? Our pick

Our pick is LYON. The MSI sweep is the clearest evidence there is: an international stage, a best-of-five and three straight games for LYON. LYON’s MSI run also holds up against the rest of the field, with a 3-0 over G2 Esports and a five-game series against the team that won the title. At First Stand, LYON beat LOUD 3-2 before losses to Gen.G and JDG, while TSW didn’t take a series.

TSW’s case rests on the format. A best-of-one rewards a team that plays a sharp early game and has a prepared draft, and TSW’s 3-1 over Top Esports at MSI showed what the roster does against an elite team. Both teams play on Patch 26.20, the Worlds patch, so nobody gets a surprise from the Oct. 21 changes in patch 26.21.
