Gen.G: two LCK titles in 2026
Gen.G won the LCK’s first final of the year 3-0 over BNK FEARX on March 1, then beat JDG and LYON 3-0 each at First Stand before a 3-0 semifinal loss to G2 Esports on March 21. In June, a 3-2 loss to T1 on June 14 kept Gen.G out of MSI.
The summer went its way. Gen.G swept KT Rolster 3-0 on Sept. 1, beat Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 on Sept. 5 and beat the same team 3-1 again in the final on Sept. 13, as our GEN vs IG page explains. Round 1 brought a win over Invictus Gaming in the first game of the Swiss Stage. The lineup is Kiin in the top lane, Canyon in the jungle, Chovy in the mid lane, Ruler as the bot laner and Duro as the support.
Hanwha Life Esports: the MSI champion
HLE took the trophy Gen.G never got to play for. At MSI 2026 in Daejeon, it swept Team Secret Whales and G2 Esports 3-0, lost 3-1 to Bilibili Gaming on July 9, came back past LYON 3-2 and beat Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in the final on July 12.

The lineup is Zeus in the top lane, Kanavi in the jungle, Zeka in the mid lane, Gumayusi as the bot laner and Delight as the support.
Who wins GEN vs HLE? Our pick
Our pick is Gen.G. Seven LCK series in 2026 produced six Gen.G wins and a 15-6 edge in games, according to Riot’s official results. Gen.G won 3-0 on Feb. 1, 2-1 on May 27, 2-1 on Aug. 5 and 2-0 on Aug. 13, then took both September playoff series 3-1. HLE’s only win came 2-0 on April 18.
HLE’s case rests on its international form. It beat four different teams at MSI, Bilibili Gaming in the final after losing to the same team three days earlier, and a best-of-one gives the MSI champion a real shot at an opponent it struggles with over a long series. Chovy against Zeka in the mid lane is the matchup to watch.
