Horizon 3 release date: not announced, while Guerrilla works on Horizon Hunters Gathering
Horizon 3 doesn't have a release date, because Sony and Guerrilla haven't announced it. The last main Horizon game, Horizon Forbidden West, came out on Feb. 18, 2022. Guerrilla's newest announced project is Horizon Hunters Gathering, a three-player co-op action game for PS5 and PC that was revealed in February 2026 and has held two closed playtests, but it doesn't have a release date either.

When does Horizon 3 come out?
There’s no release date, because Sony and Guerrilla haven’t announced Horizon 3. No trailer, year or platform list exists, and any dates shared online aren’t official.
The last main game in the series, Horizon Forbidden West, came out on PS5 and PS4 on Feb. 18, 2022. Its Complete Edition reached PC on March 21, 2024, and it’s $59.99 on Steam. By simple arithmetic, it has been about four years and eight months since Forbidden West’s launch as of October 2026. What Guerrilla is making now
Guerrilla’s newest announced game is Horizon Hunters Gathering, revealed in February 2026. It’s a cooperative action game for PS5 and PC where up to three players team up as Hunters against deadly machines, with cross-play and cross-progression between the two platforms. Each Hunter has a melee or ranged playstyle, and builds use a rogue-lite perk system.
It has already had two closed playtests through the PlayStation Beta Program: a small one at the end of February 2026 and a second on May 22 to 25, 2026, which added two new Hunters, a story episode and a new region. Guerrilla says Hunters Gathering has a narrative campaign and that its story is “fully canon,” continuing after launch. Its PlayStation page says Guerrilla will share more information about the release at a later date.
Is Horizon Hunters Gathering the same as Horizon 3?
No. Hunters Gathering stars its own roster of Hunters, with names like Rem, Sun, Axle, Ensa and Shadow, and it’s built around replayable co-op hunts between visits to a shared social hub. Guerrilla hasn’t connected it to a third main Horizon game.
Will Horizon 3 come to PC?
That can’t be confirmed until the game is announced. Recent Horizon releases point in that direction, though. Forbidden West’s Complete Edition came to PC in 2024, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launched on PS5 and PC on Oct. 31, 2024, for $49.99 on Steam, and Hunters Gathering is planned for PS5 and PC from day one.
Other Horizon games
The series has spread out since Forbidden West. Horizon Call of the Mountain launched for PS VR2 on Feb. 22, 2023, and Lego Horizon Adventures, made by Guerrilla and Studio Gobo, came out on Nov. 14, 2024. In November 2025, Guerrilla also announced Horizon Steel Frontiers, a mobile-first MMORPG that NCSoft is developing, with PC play through NCSoft’s PURPLE platform.
