Hogwarts Legacy DLC: no story expansion, the $19.99 Dark Arts Pack and every free update

Hogwarts Legacy never got a story expansion, and almost everything added since launch came free. Here’s the one paid DLC, every free update and what Warner Bros. has planned.

Does Hogwarts Legacy have DLC?

Hogwarts Legacy has one paid DLC and no story expansion. Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games released the game on Feb. 10, 2023, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S and PC, followed by PS4 and Xbox One, the original Switch on Nov. 14, 2023, and Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. The only add-on on Steam is the Dark Arts Pack, which came out on launch day.

Since then, every new quest, mount and feature has arrived as a free update, from the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop in 2024 to official PC mods in 2025.

Is Hogwarts Legacy DLC coming?

Warner Bros. hasn’t announced any. The game’s Steam news in 2026 covered sales and a free hat, and the company’s announced Hogwarts Legacy project is the sequel: Warner Bros. Discovery named the second installment of Hogwarts Legacy in its games pipeline on Aug. 6, 2026, as our Hogwarts Legacy 2 release date page explains.

Warner Bros. hasn’t announced a Definitive Edition or a remaster either, as our Hogwarts Legacy remaster page details. Expected price for a story DLC: about $29.99, our estimate.

The Dark Arts Pack, the only paid DLC

The Dark Arts Pack costs $19.99 and adds three things: a Thestral mount, the Dark Arts Cosmetic Set and the Dark Arts Battle Arena. It’s also part of the Digital Deluxe Edition, $69.99, which adds the Dark Arts Garrison Hat on top of the $59.99 game.

On Steam, a weekend deal takes 90% off until Oct. 22: the pack costs $1.99, the game $5.99 and the Deluxe Edition $6.99. At that price the Deluxe Edition is the one to get, since the pack alone costs more than the difference.

The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop and the free summer update

The biggest addition since launch came free on June 5, 2024. That update unlocked the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, previously available only on PlayStation, on every platform, along with all the former exclusive items: the Onyx Hippogriff mount, the Felix Felicis Potion and the Shopkeeper Cosmetic Set.

It also brought new items, including the Lavender Borealis broom, Azkaban-themed gear and the Circular Taped Spectacles, plus a Photo Mode and a talent point reset, so you can rebuild your witch or wizard without starting a new playthrough.

Free PC mods and the Creator Kit

On Jan. 30, 2025, a free update added official mod support on PC. Players get an in-game Mod Manager, and modders build brooms, costumes, gameplay changes and more with the Creator Kit, a free download on the Epic Games Store. A June 10, 2025, patch expanded the kit with spell videos, custom loot in containers and new broom, costume and gameplay templates.

The Oct. 15, 2025, PC patch added full support for the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, and a hotfix on Dec. 3, 2025, fixed how the mod list shows favorites and uploads. Official mod support covers the PC version.

Free items and the Quidditch Champions bonus

Warner Bros. hands out free cosmetics around events. For Back to Hogwarts in 2026, every player could claim the Astronomer’s Hat until Sept. 30, 2026.

Owning Hogwarts Legacy also unlocks a free Legacy Pack in Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, out since Sept. 3, 2024, with a Sebastian Sallow Hero Skin, the Moontrimmer Broom Skin, a Sebastian Sallow Style Wand and Ancient Magic extras, once you link a WB Games account.

The DLSS 5 update on Nov. 5

The next free update is for PC. On Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, Hogwarts Legacy gets Nvidia’s DLSS 5, which adds more realistic lighting and materials, on GeForce RTX 50 Series cards, RTX Spark laptops and GeForce NOW, according to Nvidia. It adds no new quests or areas, and the full details are on our DLSS 5 release date page.

Prices on every platform

Hogwarts Legacy costs $59.99 on Steam, or $5.99 in the weekend deal until Oct. 22. On the Nintendo US eShop, the Switch 2 edition lists at $59.99, the Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99 and the Dark Arts Pack at $19.99, as our Hogwarts Legacy Switch 2 page explains. On PS5, the PlayStation Store had it for $10.49 instead of $69.99 when we checked on Oct. 18, also until Oct. 22, and the game is part of PlayStation Plus Extra.

Hogwarts Legacy has sold more than 40 million copies, according to Warner Bros., and the company’s announced follow-up is the sequel rather than new DLC.
