Aspyr announced the remaster of the 2004 Shrek 2 game on Oct. 20 during the ID@Xbox showcase, and preorders cost $26.99, 10% off, through Nov. 9, with PS Plus required for the discount on PS5. The remaster rebuilds the graphics in 4K, keeps four-player co-op on one couch, online or both, and adds a Photo Mode and a Cheats Menu.

Shrek, Fiona and Donkey are back on Nov. 10, in a remaster of the 2004 co-op game. Here’s the release date, the price on every platform and what Aspyr changed.
When does Shrek 2 Remastered come out?
On Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Aspyr announced the game on Oct. 20 during the ID@Xbox showcase, with trailers from Aspyr, PlayStation and Xbox the same afternoon. The PlayStation trailer passed 2 million views on YouTube within two days.
Aspyr hasn’t announced a release hour. Steam, the Xbox Store and the Nintendo eShop all list Nov. 10.

$29.99 on every platform. Preorders are open, and until Nov. 9 they cost $26.99, 10% off:

What’s new in the remaster
The original Shrek 2 game came out in 2004, alongside the DreamWorks movie in which Shrek and Fiona travel to the kingdom of Far Far Away to meet Fiona’s parents, the king and queen. For the remaster, Aspyr rebuilt the game with better textures, a new interface, 4K resolution and rebuilt cutscenes. Two features are new: a Photo Mode for snapshots and a Cheats Menu that lets players unlock cheats for an easier run.
The levels follow the movie, from Shrek’s swamp to the castle of Far Far Away, with hidden Easter eggs along the way. The screenshots show Puss in Boots, Gingy and the Three Little Pigs next to Shrek, Fiona and Donkey.
On PC, Steam lists a 64-bit version of Windows 11 and 15GB of storage, with English voices and text. The ESRB rates the game E10+ for comic mischief and fantasy violence.
Four-player co-op, on a couch or online
Co-op is the heart of the game, which Aspyr calls a cult-classic, button-mashing co-op adventure. Up to four players join on one couch, online, or in a mix of both, with friends at home and online in the same session. Each player can swap heroes at any time to use their abilities against enemies and bosses or to solve puzzles. The game also plays solo.
Shrek 2 Remastered and November’s big releases
