Steam and the Microsoft Store list the expansion but take no pre-orders and show no price yet. Deluxe Edition and the early adopter bonus
The Deluxe Edition adds the Gilded Shell Tops outfit, the Merfolk Mansion House Style and two Adventure Companions from The Little Mermaid, Flounder and Sebastian. Both bring their own quest featuring Ariel, unlock rewards as they level up and stay at your side on land and underwater.

Every buyer who plays between Nov. 18 and Dec. 2 earns the Villainous Fin, a lilac merfolk tail with spiky fins, claimed from the in-game mailbox by 11:59 p.m. ET on Dec. 2. In the base game, the Seafaring Star Path runs from Oct. 21 to Dec. 2 with nautical furniture, merfolk clothes, captain’s outfits and a first mate to use in the expansion.
What’s new in The Keepsake Sea
The story opens at Dazzle Beach, where a statue in the water carries a message from a stranded old friend. The search leads to a faraway kingdom across the sea, and the sea’s past reaches back to the start of the Forgetting. Four Guardians watch over the sea, and you wake each one to prove your childlike spirit.

| Biome | Setting | New villagers |
|---|---|---|
| Shipwreck Shores | Colorful pirate bay with a fortress | Milo Thatch, Captain Jack Sparrow |
| Candy Cove | Chilly island of frosty desserts | Megara, Captain Hook |
| Kingdom of Oublié | Coral city above and below the sea | Wendy |
Each island has its own underwater area. Dory from Finding Nemo is the first Adventure Companion, a new kind of companion that guides you underwater, finds items for you and rides along in a bubble on land.
Merfolk form, underwater homes and the pirate ship
The merfolk form lets you swim on and under the water, with more than 50 customization options, from ears and fins to arms, torsos and tail patterns. On the surface, you swim across the Valley and the earlier expansions, a dive into a fishing ripple lands the fish at once, and you still talk to villagers and take DreamSnaps in merfolk form. Underwater areas take full decoration, with architectural kits, water props and platforms that raise or lower items.

The Enchanted Pirate Ship sails between the islands. Its crane salvages items, you design your own flag and sail, up to four villagers join as crew, and the Captain’s Cabin below deck has crafting, cooking and storage. The expansion uses the base game’s PC specs, from a Core i3-540 and 6 GB of memory, and Steam and the Microsoft Store list it with an E rating from the ESRB.
Free updates after The Keepsake Sea
The free 'Ohana Holidays update follows on Wednesday, Dec. 9, with Lilo from Lilo & Stitch and a holiday Star Path. Gameloft’s 2027 roadmap promises two princes in early 2027, a villainous duo in spring and an unexpected adventurer in summer. Our November 2026 release calendar lists the rest of the month, and our upcoming games of 2027 page tracks the next year.
This page is updated as soon as Steam and the console stores list prices and PlayStation and Nintendo open their pages.
