Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2: out since June 5, 2025, for $69.99, with a 40 fps performance mode and a 64 GB game card

Night City runs on a Nintendo handheld, and CD Projekt Red has published exactly how fast. Here’s what the Switch 2 version costs, includes and targets.

When did Cyberpunk 2077 come out on Switch 2?

On June 5, 2025, the same day Nintendo Switch 2 launched. CD Projekt Red announced on April 2, 2025, that the game would be there on launch day, and it was the first time Cyberpunk 2077 came to a Nintendo console.

The Switch 2 version is the Ultimate Edition, which bundles the base game with Phantom Liberty, the spy-thriller expansion set in the Dogtown district. Nintendo’s US eShop lists it at $69.99, with no discount on the page when we checked on Oct. 17, 2026. It’s rated M for Mature by the ESRB.

How does it run on Switch 2?

The game has two modes in its settings. According to CD Projekt Red’s support page, Performance mode targets up to 40 fps at 1080p in TV mode and up to 40 fps at 720p in handheld mode, while Quality mode runs at 30 fps at 1080p in both TV and handheld modes. In handheld mode, the game also uses VRR, variable refresh rate, to smooth things out.

Nintendo’s store lists support for TV, tabletop and handheld modes, surround sound and cloud saves, which need a Nintendo Switch Online membership. The game is single player.

What controls does it support?

Several options built for Switch 2. You can use the Joy-Con 2 (R) as a mouse for precise aiming in and out of combat, turn on Gyroscope Mode to fine-tune your aim by rotating the controller, or play with separated Joy-Con 2 controllers and use motion controls to attack and dodge. In handheld and tabletop modes, the touch screen works for the inventory, perks and map, and CD Projekt Red says you can even play the hacking minigame by touch. The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller works in any mode.

Is there a physical copy, and how big is it?

Yes, and it holds the game. CD Projekt Red says the physical version comes on a 64 GB game card, not a key card, and Nintendo’s store data puts the download at about 60.6 GB. Extra language packs come separately from the eShop and can add to the final size. The game supports English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Russian and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Does it get the same updates as other versions?

Mostly, sometimes later. Update 2.3, with four new vehicles, the AutoDrive feature and self-driving Delamain cabs, came out on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S on July 17, 2025, and CD Projekt Red said it would reach Switch 2 at a later date. Patch 2.31, released on Sept. 11, 2025, rolled out on Switch 2 at the same time as the other platforms, with an AutoDrive upgrade and Photo Mode changes. It’s the most recent patch in CD Projekt Red’s Steam announcements.
