Elden Ring on Switch 2: Tarnished Edition came out on Aug. 28, 2026, for $79.99, with Shadow of the Erdtree and new extras included

Elden Ring finally runs on a Nintendo console, and it comes with everything. Here’s what Tarnished Edition costs and includes.

When did Elden Ring come out on Switch 2?

On Aug. 28, 2026. Bandai Namco and FromSoftware released Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 for $79.99 in Nintendo’s US eShop. It’s a Switch 2 game, not available on the original Switch.

The store page lists online play and cloud saves with a Nintendo Switch Online membership, HDR output on compatible TVs, surround sound and a download of more than 40 GB. Bandai Namco also cites more than 30 million copies of Elden Ring sold worldwide.

What’s included in Tarnished Edition?

The original Elden Ring from 2022, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and the new Tarnished Pack content. On Steam, those three cost $59.99, $39.99 and $4.99 separately, so the Switch 2 edition comes out cheaper than buying them one by one there.

The new content, detailed in patch 1.17, adds two starting classes, the Idus Knight and the Heavy Knight, whose gear can also be bought or found in the world, new weapons and three Spectral Steed Attires that change Torrent’s look, found in Stormveil Castle, Liurnia of the Lakes and the Altus Plateau. It also adds NPC invasion events in Caelid and in Leyndell, Royal Capital.

Can you get the new content on other platforms?

Yes. Players on PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC got the same content as the Tarnished Pack, which costs $4.99 on Steam. Patch 1.17, released on Aug. 27, 2026, added support for it along with balance changes, and the pack went live on Steam at 3 p.m. PT on Aug. 27, which was already Aug. 28 in Japan. From Sept. 1 to Sept. 28 and from Oct. 1 to Oct. 28, 2026, Bandai Namco is running community quests to celebrate the launch, with commemorative artwork as rewards.
