Watch Dogs 4 release date: Ubisoft hasn't announced a new game since Watch Dogs: Legion
Watch Dogs 4 doesn't have a release date, because Ubisoft hasn't announced it. The last game, Watch Dogs: Legion, came out on Oct. 29, 2020, and the release plans Ubisoft shared on May 20, 2026, for April 2027 to March 2029 name Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon, but not Watch Dogs.
Watch Dogs: Legion turns 6 this month, and fans are asking whether DedSec will be back. Here’s what Ubisoft has actually said.
When does Watch Dogs 4 come out?
There’s no release date, because Ubisoft hasn’t announced Watch Dogs 4. It hasn’t revealed a title, a city, platforms or a trailer, and dates shared online aren’t official. Claims that the series is finished, or that a new edition of Legion is coming, haven’t been confirmed by Ubisoft either.
The last game is Watch Dogs: Legion, which came out on Oct. 29, 2020. By simple arithmetic, that’s six years as of October 2026.
What Ubisoft’s plans say
In its full-year earnings release on May 20, 2026, Ubisoft said it expects a much stronger pipeline in its fiscal years from April 2027 to March 2029, with releases across major brands, naming Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon. Watch Dogs isn’t on that list. See what that means for one of those series on our Far Cry 7 release date page.
Ubisoft has also been cutting projects. In January 2026, it discontinued six games in a company-wide reset, including the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. It didn’t name the other five, and it hasn’t said anything about Watch Dogs since.
The Watch Dogs movie
The series is heading to theaters first. Ubisoft Film & Television and New Regency are making a live-action Watch Dogs movie with an original story, directed by Mathieu Turi and starring Tom Blyth and Sophie Wilde. Ubisoft said in 2024 that production would start that summer, and the film doesn’t have a release date.
Where to play Watch Dogs now
The series started with Watch Dogs in May 2014, set in Chicago, followed by Watch Dogs 2 in November 2016 in the San Francisco Bay Area and Legion in London. On Steam, Watch Dogs: Legion is $59.99 and Watch Dogs 2 is $49.99.
This page is updated as soon as Ubisoft announces a new Watch Dogs game or a date for the movie.
