Black Flag Resynced gets its last big update, with New Game+ and Nightmare Mode
Ubisoft released Title Update 1.0.8 for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on Oct. 27, and it calls this the game's final major content update. It adds New Game+, up to five runs, plus Nightmare Mode and hidden community chests. Quality-of-life updates follow over the coming months. The game lists at $59.99, and Steam charged $44.99 on Nov. 7.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has reached the end of its major updates, less than four months after launch. Here’s what New Game+ and Nightmare Mode change, what the game costs and what Ubisoft has promised next.
What’s in the final Black Flag Resynced update?
Title Update 1.0.8 went live on Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. ET on all platforms. Ubisoft calls it “the final major content update” and says quality-of-life updates follow over the coming months, with none shipped through Nov. 7. It adds New Game+, Nightmare Mode and hidden community chests with some rewards players asked for. Ubisoft’s Oct. 29 Fall Update post describes this as the end of its current plans for additional major content.
The download came to 15.5 GB on Xbox Series X/S, 4.5 GB on PS5, 4.3 GB on PC and 2.1 GB on Steam.
How does New Game+ work?
You restart Edward Kenway’s story and keep most of what you’ve earned, up to New Game+++++, which is five extra runs. Each run adds danger, with Elite Soldiers appearing more often and max-rank ships on patrol.

A new currency, Escudos, buys outfits and items exclusive to New Game+. You earn it through challenges and by looting chests you’ve already completed, and the General Store swaps Reales for it.
How hard is Nightmare Mode?
Ubisoft’s list of changes is long, and the worst one is a single line: the safety that stops a one-shot kill is switched off, so one bullet or explosion can end you with plenty of health left.

Steam’s 25% discount runs until Nov. 10 at noon ET. Hellfire, Sea Serpent, Dragon Storm and the other content packs cost $9.99 each, and the Map and Resource packs cost $4.99.
Which platforms is Black Flag Resynced on?
PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, through the Ubisoft Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store, since July 9, 2026. Ubisoft says it’s Steam Deck Verified, and Steam lists Windows only. Microsoft’s Game Pass lists didn’t include it on Nov. 7.
