Riders Republic reaches Switch 2 on Dec. 9, and Offline Play arrives on every platform the same day
Riders Republic, Ubisoft's open-world extreme sports game, comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2026. Ubisoft announced the date on Oct. 20 as part of the game's fifth anniversary, along with Offline Play, a mode that launches the same day on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X and S and PC and opens most single-player content without an internet connection. Ubisoft hasn't posted a Switch 2 price or opened pre-orders. Expected price on Switch 2: $39.99, our estimate, the price of the Standard Edition on Steam. The anniversary sale runs through Nov. 4 on PlayStation and Xbox, where the Standard Edition costs $5.99 on the PlayStation Store and the Deluxe Edition costs $11.99 on Xbox.

Ubisoft’s mountain playground lands on Switch 2 on Dec. 9, and it brings a new offline mode to every platform. Here’s when Riders Republic arrives, what it’s expected to cost and what the fifth anniversary adds before then.
When does Riders Republic come out on Switch 2?
Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2026. Ubisoft revealed the date on Oct. 20 during a fifth-anniversary livestream, five years after the game first launched in October 2021. The same day, Offline Play arrives on every platform, so the Switch 2 version starts with the mode on day one.

| Platform | What happens on Dec. 9 |
|---|---|
| Switch 2 | Game launches with Offline Play |
| PS5 | Offline Play update |
| Xbox Series X and S | Offline Play update |
| PC | Offline Play update |
Ubisoft hasn’t posted an unlock hour. Expected unlock on Switch 2: midnight ET on Dec. 9, our estimate, which is 9 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
How much will Riders Republic cost on Switch 2?
Ubisoft hasn’t announced a price, and the Nintendo eShop doesn’t list the game yet. Expected price: $39.99, our estimate, the Standard Edition’s regular price on Steam, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox store.

| Version or pack | Steam price |
|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $39.99 |
| Deluxe Edition | $59.99 |
| Careers Pack | $39.99 |
| Blind Spot Pack | $24.99 |
| Motor, Frenzy and X-TREME Board Packs | $19.99 each |
The anniversary sale runs through Nov. 4 on PlayStation and Xbox. The PlayStation Store sells the Standard Edition for $5.99 instead of $39.99, and the Xbox store sells the Deluxe Edition for $11.99 instead of $59.99. The Ubisoft Store ran its own sale of up to 90% off, which ended on Oct. 26.
What is Offline Play?
Offline Play opens most of the single-player game without a connection. You can roam the map, work through careers, unlock landmarks and change your rider’s look, and everything syncs to your online save once you reconnect. That makes the Switch 2 and Steam Deck versions far more practical on a plane or a train, and the mode also keeps the game playable during outages and server maintenance.

Multiplayer, player-created events, sponsors, season progression and the shop still need a connection.
Fifth-anniversary events and the free trial
Ubisoft ran a free trial from Oct. 22 to 26, including Free Play Days for every Xbox player, and progress carries over to the full game. DJ Henri PFR plays an in-game concert twice a day on a big screen in the Ridge from Oct. 22 through Nov. 4, with a reward for watching, and its three tracks, Make Love, Sola and Riders Things, join the in-game radio in Season 21.

A developer-made event runs from Oct. 21 to Nov. 4 in two parts: the first week rewarded anniversary skis, and the second week, which ends on Nov. 4, rewards an anniversary BMX. Collaboration items nod to other Ubisoft games, including an Assassin’s Creed outfit based on Edward Kenway, a Rayman BMX and a Globox outfit. The Ridge Full Send event, with every Toy from the past year, runs from Nov. 25 to Dec. 9, right up to the Switch 2 launch.
What is Riders Republic?
An open-world extreme sports game from Ubisoft Annecy, set on one shared map that blends US national parks such as Yosemite, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Sequoia and Grand Teton. A quick menu swaps your bike for skis, a snowboard or a wingsuit in the middle of a ride, mass races put a big pack of riders on one start line, and new seasons keep adding gear and sports, most recently scooters in Season 20.

Rayman Legends Retold, another Ubisoft game coming to Switch 2, arrives six days earlier, on Dec. 3, covered on our Rayman Legends Retold release date page, and our upcoming Switch 2 games list has the rest of December.
This page is updated as soon as Ubisoft posts the Switch 2 price, pre-orders and the Dec. 9 unlock time.
