Titanfall 3 release date: EA and Respawn still haven't announced it, 10 years after Titanfall 2
There's no Titanfall 3 release date, because EA and Respawn Entertainment haven't announced Titanfall 3. As of Oct. 16, 2026, the most recent Titanfall game is still Titanfall 2, which came out on Oct. 28, 2016, and turns 10 at the end of this month. Respawn's work in the Titanfall universe since then has been Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royale it launched in February 2019, and none of the studio's current job listings on EA's careers site names a Titanfall project.
Titanfall fans have been waiting a decade. Titanfall 2 turns 10 this month, and EA and Respawn still haven’t announced a third game. Here’s what’s official and what’s only been reported.
Is Titanfall 3 confirmed?
No. EA and Respawn haven’t announced Titanfall 3, so there’s no release date, no window and no platforms. The latest game in the series is still Titanfall 2, released on Oct. 28, 2016, for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
There’s no hiring signal either. Respawn’s open jobs on EA’s careers site, checked on Oct. 16, 2026, include a long list of roles for Apex Legends and a few unnamed ones, but none of them names a Titanfall game.
What happened after Titanfall 2
Titanfall 2 is remembered for its campaign, in which rifleman Jack Cooper teams up with the titan BT-7274, and for its fast wall-running multiplayer. A year after it came out, EA bought Respawn in 2017.
Respawn’s next game in that universe wasn’t a sequel. Apex Legends, a free-to-play battle royale, came out of nowhere on Feb. 4, 2019, with characters and weapons from Titanfall but no titans to pilot. It’s still getting new seasons. The current one, Marked, started in August 2026, and Respawn announced its latest event, Blood Pact, on Oct. 8.
Reports of cancelled Titanfall projects
Several Titanfall projects have reportedly come and gone. It’s been widely reported that Respawn worked on an early Titanfall 3 before shifting the team to Apex Legends, that a game mixing Apex Legends and Titanfall was cancelled in 2023 and that another Titanfall-related project was cancelled during later layoffs at Respawn. EA and Respawn haven’t confirmed any of these projects by name.
The company that would decide on a sequel has also changed. EA became a private company on Aug. 4, 2026, after a group made up of the Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake and Affinity Partners completed its purchase. EA hasn’t said anything about Titanfall’s future since.
How to play Titanfall now
Titanfall 2 is $29.99 on Steam and is also on the EA app, PS4 and Xbox One, and the console versions play on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The campaign takes a weekend, and it’s the best way to see why fans still ask for a sequel.
Apex Legends is free on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Switch, and it’s where Respawn keeps telling stories in the Titanfall universe.
What could come next
Rumors about a new Titanfall come up almost every year, often around big showcases. Respawn hasn’t confirmed any of them.
The next date fans are watching is Titanfall 2’s 10th anniversary on Oct. 28, 2026, though Respawn hasn’t announced anything for it.
