Star Wars Jedi 3 release date: Respawn is making the final chapter, but there's no date or title yet

The Star Wars Jedi trilogy has an ending in the works, but EA hasn’t shown it. Here’s what’s official about the third game, and what’s only been rumored.

When does Star Wars Jedi 3 come out?

There’s no release date and no release year. The only official word came on Sept. 17, 2024, at EA’s investor day, when Laura Miele, president of EA Entertainment and Technology, said more than 40 million Star Wars fans had connected with Cal Kestis and that Respawn is working hard to bring “the final chapter of this thrilling story” to players. EA and Respawn haven’t formally revealed the game since.

By simple arithmetic, Survivor came out about three years and five months after Fallen Order. The same gap after Survivor would have pointed to October 2026, and no game has been announced, so the final chapter is already on a longer schedule than the second one. What is Star Wars Jedi 3 called?

It doesn’t have an official name. EA has only described it as the final chapter, and Star Wars Jedi 3 is the name fans use for it. The first two games were Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, released on Nov. 15, 2019, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, released on April 28, 2023.

Will Cal Kestis be back?

EA tied the third game directly to Cal Kestis, describing it as the final chapter of the story of Cal’s arc of becoming a powerful Jedi. Cameron Monaghan played Cal in both games, but EA hasn’t announced the cast, the story or where the game is set. Survivor picks up five years after the events of Fallen Order, and it’s not known how much time passes before the final chapter.

What platforms will Star Wars Jedi 3 be on?

EA hasn’t announced platforms. Survivor launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on April 28, 2023, after a delay from March 17, and came to PS4 and Xbox One on Sept. 17, 2024. It’s $69.99 on Steam and is included in EA Play Pro, while Fallen Order is $39.99 on Steam.

Respawn’s other Star Wars games

In January 2022, EA and Lucasfilm Games announced three Star Wars projects with Respawn: the Jedi sequel that became Survivor, a first-person shooter and a strategy game. In February 2024, EA said it was moving away from early development of the Star Wars shooter. The strategy game became Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactics game from Bit Reactor, made with Respawn and Lucasfilm Games. It came out on Aug. 27, 2026, and it’s $49.99 on Steam.

EA itself changed hands in 2026, becoming a private company on Aug. 4, 2026, after a group of investors completed its purchase. EA hasn’t said whether that affects Respawn’s plans for the final Jedi game. Respawn’s Titanfall series doesn’t have a new game announced either. See where things stand on Titanfall 3.
