Sulfur 1.0 release date: Oct. 28 on PC, PS5, Xbox and Switch 2, as the Steam price rises to $29.99
Sulfur, Perfect Random's roguelite shooter, leaves early access with version 1.0 on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, exactly two years after it opened on Steam. The same day, it launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, the studio announced on Oct. 8. The Steam price rises from $24.99 to $29.99 at 1.0, and the Nintendo eShop sells it at $23.99, 20% off, until Nov. 5, for pre-orders and launch week alike. Perfect Random hasn't announced a release time, and Microsoft's Xbox store data points to 3 p.m. ET. Version 1.0 completes the enchantment system, adds a quest log and closes out the progression from start to finish, but online co-op isn't part of it.

Sulfur is two years into early access, and Oct. 28 brings version 1.0 and the console launch at once. Here’s when it comes out, what it costs and what changes.
When does Sulfur 1.0 come out?
Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026. Perfect Random revealed the date at the Triple-i Initiative showcase on Oct. 8, and the Steam page reads “Leaving Early Access: Oct 28, 2026.” Sulfur opened in early access on Oct. 28, 2024, so version 1.0 lands two years to the day later.

It doesn’t come alone. On the same day, Sulfur launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. Perfect Random publishes it on every platform.
What time does Sulfur 1.0 release?
Expected release time: 3 p.m. ET on Oct. 28, our estimate. Perfect Random hasn’t announced an hour, and Microsoft’s Xbox store data lists 19:00 UTC:
| Region | Time on Oct. 28 |
|---|---|
| ET | 3 p.m. |
| PT | Noon |
| London (GMT) | 7 p.m. |
| Berlin (CET) | 8 p.m. |
| Tokyo | 4 a.m. on Oct. 29 |
Europe moves its clocks back an hour on Oct. 25, while the US stays on daylight time until Nov. 1, so the gap between New York and London is four hours that week instead of five.
Sulfur 1.0 price
The base price on Steam rises from $24.99 to $29.99 at 1.0, and Perfect Random says regional prices go up in proportion. Here’s what Steam charges during early access, with our estimate for 1.0:

| Country | Early access price | Expected 1.0 price, our estimate |
|---|---|---|
| US | $24.99 | $29.99, official |
| UK | £19.99 | About £23.99 |
| Germany | €24.50 | About €29.50 |
| Japan | ¥2,900 | About ¥3,500 |
| Brazil | R$73.99 | About R$88.99 |
On the US Nintendo eShop, Sulfur costs $29.99 on both Switch 2 and Switch, and a 20% discount brings it to $23.99 until Nov. 5, for pre-orders and the first week after launch. Sony and Microsoft haven’t listed a price yet. Expected price: about $29.99 on PS5 and Xbox, our estimate, in line with Steam and Nintendo.
What’s new in Sulfur 1.0
Perfect Random calls 1.0 the end of early access, with no new areas for veterans at launch. Instead, it finishes the systems the game already has:

- The complete enchantment system, with the full matrix of combined magic and five new combinations: Scroll of Snowman Head, Water Bomb, Mud Ball, Evil Seed and Teslacold.
- A quest log that tracks every quest.
- The full progression from the first run to the end of the game.
- Oils that counter bullet drop, hitstop on melee hits, plus balance, performance and quality-of-life work.
The early access build already has more than 60 firearms, hundreds of loot items, bosses, cooking and weapon mods. Perfect Random posts the full 1.0 patch notes on launch day. The last big early access update, Dungeons & Magic, arrived on Aug. 27, 2026.
Multiplayer, saves and Steam Deck
Multiplayer isn’t in 1.0. Perfect Random plans it as an update after launch and ruled out a surprise release on Oct. 28. It also plans more free updates, such as new firearms, and wants to explore DLC if the community stays active through 2027 and beyond, though none is announced. The studio hasn’t said whether early access saves carry over to 1.0.
On PC, Valve rates Sulfur Steam Deck Verified. More than 500,000 copies sold during early access, Perfect Random said on Oct. 20, and Steam’s English reviews stand at 90% positive.
Sulfur is one of several big launches that week, from Phantom Blade Zero on the same evening, covered on our Phantom Blade Zero release date page, to the full list on our new games this week page. For more Nintendo dates, see our upcoming Switch 2 games page.
This page is updated as soon as Perfect Random announces the release time, posts the 1.0 patch notes or Sony and Microsoft list the console price.
