Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United release date: Feb. 16, 2027, at $59.99, with early access from Feb. 13

Square Enix’s next SaGa remake lands in February 2027. Here’s when Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United comes out, what each edition costs and how early you can play.

When does Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United come out?

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC, through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Square Enix opened digital pre-orders on Sept. 10, 2026. If you pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition, you can start 72 hours early, on Feb. 13, 2027, at 5 p.m. UTC, or 12 p.m. ET.

Price and editions

The standard edition costs $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99 on Steam and the Xbox store. As of Oct. 17, the Nintendo eShop lists both versions, plus a Digital Deluxe Upgrade, without prices. Square Enix’s official store links also include a physical standard edition.

The Deluxe adds an Original Version Outfit Swap Pack for the eight protagonists, a set of eight pixel-art button badges, the SaGa Franchise Battle Music 10 Pack, which swaps in battle themes from across the series, and three item packs: new formations such as Imperial Cross and Divine Wall, a Trading Game pack with the Sinon Pub and a War Mode pack with a goblin formation and tactic.

Pre-order bonus and the Romancing SaGa 2 save bonus

Pre-orders get Tatyana’s Piggy Bank, which raises the aurums you earn from battle by 10%, and How to be a Hero by Robin, which raises tech points by 10%. Both work while your Renown rank is 2 or lower, and you collect them from a treasure chest in Loanne or the port of Myules. The pre-order period ends on Feb. 16, 2027, at 4:59 p.m. UTC.

If you have save data from Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, the 2024 remake from the same team, you also get Leon’s Crown, worn by the emperors of the Varennes Empire, which lets the wearer cast the Solar Art Lightball.

What is Romancing SaGa 3 about?

Every 300 years, Morastrum, the Star of Death, rises and dooms everyone born beneath it except the mysterious Child of Destiny. Nearly 20 years after its last appearance, an insurrection in Loanne uncovers a bigger threat: the Four Sinistrals want to reopen the gates to the Abyss. You pick one of eight protagonists, each with a separate story, and recruit more than 20 allies. The Freeform Scenario System lets you choose which stories to follow and the order in which you take on the Sinistrals, so each playthrough is different.

Battles, difficulty and music

Classic SaGa systems return, such as Glimmer and Formations, joined by a new timeline-based battle system and United Attacks. You choose between Casual, Normal and Classic difficulty. Kenji Ito, the original composer, supervised the newly arranged soundtrack, and you can switch between the original and arranged music. Character designs are by Yoshiro Ambe, inspired by the original pixel art and Tomomi Kobayashi’s illustrations.

Rating and PC requirements

The ESRB rates the game T for Teen, for Fantasy Violence, Blood, Suggestive Themes, Mild Language and a Drug Reference. On PC, Steam lists Windows 11, an Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100, 8 GB of memory, a GeForce GTX 1630, Radeon RX 6400 or Intel Arc A380 and 30 GB of storage as the minimum, for 1080p at 30 fps.
