What is Final Fantasy Resonance about?
The story starts in Grandshelt, the Kingdom of Knights. Rain, the young commander of its airship squadron, and Lasswell, Rain’s childhood friend and deputy, are sent to investigate the Earth Shrine, where a protective barrier has weakened. Inside, an armored warrior named Veritas of the Dark, one of the Sworn Six of Paladia, overpowers them and shatters the Earth Crystal, then attacks Grandshelt itself. Rain and Lasswell set out to protect the remaining Crystals, joined by Fina, a girl with no memory beyond a name who appeared from the Earth Crystal.

Battles are turn-based. You exploit weaknesses to stagger enemies, earn extra turns and unleash Resonance attacks, and Visions, echoes of classic Final Fantasy characters, fight beside your party with their own skills. Side content includes the wandering swordmaster Gilgamesh, a Colosseum, the Chamber of Arms and a fight with Ultima Weapon.
Who makes it, and who’s in the cast?
Square Enix develops the game with Lancarse, and it’s the first Final Fantasy in the HD-2D style, mixing pixel-art characters with 3D worlds and dynamic camera angles. In English, Clifford Chapin voices Rain, Alejandro Saab voices Lasswell and Lizzie Freeman voices Fina; the Japanese cast includes Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yusuke Kobayashi and Akane Fujita in the same roles. On PC, Steam lists Windows 11, 8 GB of memory, a GeForce GTX 1650 and 15 GB of storage as the minimum.
