The Tag Force series returns in February 2027 with a game the Americas never got. Here’s when Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX comes out, what it costs and what each pre-order bonus includes.

When does Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX come out?

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2027, on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam. Konami announced the game on Sept. 9, 2026, and pre-orders opened the same day. There’s no PS5 or Xbox version.

Price, versions and pre-order bonuses

The game costs $49.99 for the Switch 2 and Switch versions on the Nintendo eShop and $49.99 on Steam. They’re separate products: there’s no upgrade path from Switch to Switch 2, and save data doesn’t carry over. The Nintendo eShop estimates the download at about 9 GB on Switch 2 and about 5 GB on Switch.

Physical copies for both Nintendo consoles come with three Limited Edition Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards: Yubel in Starlight Rare and Wicked Canon and Hope for the Future in Ultra Rare. The Switch 2 physical version is a game-key card, which holds a download key rather than the full game. Digital pre-orders on the Nintendo eShop get a code for four items in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel: the same three cards in Royal Finish and the Winged Kuriboh mate. The code works for six months after launch. On Steam, pre-orders get wallpapers and a Pharaoh profile icon, and every purchase includes the Duelist Directory digital book.

What is Tag Force GX?

A card game role-playing game and a remake of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3, which never came out in North or Latin America. You start your final year at Duel Academy, choose a partner from more than 100 visually upgraded characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime and learn Tag Dueling ahead of a Graduation Duel. Story Mode unlocks each classmate’s story as you build bonds through Duels and mini-games, and a new Gallery lets you look back at scenes from Tag Force 1 and 2.

Cards, Duels and online play

Classic Dueling returns with more than 3,800 cards, including fan favorites that weren’t in the original and extra cards that support GX-era Decks. Duels are fully voiced in English and Japanese, and your Ace Monsters arrive in fully animated summoning scenes. Konami notes that some card text, artwork and rules differ from the physical Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.

There’s online multiplayer, with Casual Duels and Room Matches in both Tag and one-on-one formats, and Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer. On Nintendo consoles, online play needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership. A new Casual difficulty lets you focus on the story, and the Switch 2 version supports mouse controls.

Rating, PC requirements and who makes it

The ESRB rates the game T for Teen, for Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood and Partial Nudity. Text comes in eight languages, including English, French, German, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. On PC, Steam lists Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-10400, 16 GB of memory, a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and 32 GB of storage as the minimum. Matrix Corporation develops the game, and Konami publishes it.

Tag Force GX arrives on the same day as Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United. For more on Nintendo’s console, see our upcoming Switch 2 games list, and for the full year, our upcoming games of 2027.
