Intergalactic release date: Naughty Dog hasn't dated The Heretic Prophet yet
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet doesn't have a release date. Naughty Dog announced it on Dec. 12, 2024, as a PS5 game in development since 2020, and the PlayStation Store still lists its release date as "to be confirmed." Sony hasn't announced a PC version. For scale, the studio's last two original games took about two and a half and three and a half years from reveal to release, which from the Intergalactic reveal would mean mid-2027 to mid-2028, but Naughty Dog hasn't given any window.
- PS5
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Naughty Dog’s next game, and there’s still no date for it. Here’s everything official, and how long the studio’s earlier games took.
When does Intergalactic come out?
Naughty Dog hasn’t said. The studio announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet on Dec. 12, 2024, as a new franchise in development for PS5, and said work on it started in 2020. The PlayStation Store page still lists the release date as to be confirmed, and pre-orders aren’t open.
Sony hasn’t announced a PC version either. Naughty Dog’s recent games reached PC later, after their PlayStation release, and the Intergalactic announcement only mentions PS5.
How long Naughty Dog’s games took from reveal to release
Naughty Dog teased a new Uncharted for PS4 on Nov. 14, 2013, and released it as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on May 10, 2016, about two and a half years later. No new Uncharted has been announced since, as our Uncharted 5 guide explains. The Last of Us Part II debuted at PlayStation Experience on Dec. 3, 2016, and came out on June 19, 2020, about three and a half years later.
Measured from the Dec. 12, 2024, reveal, the same gaps would put Intergalactic somewhere between mid-2027 and mid-2028. That’s arithmetic from past releases, not a date from Sony or Naughty Dog.
Story, cast and music
The game follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on Sempiria, a planet that went dark hundreds of years ago. Nobody who flew there was heard from again, and Jordan is trying to be the first person in more than 600 years to leave its orbit.
Tati Gabrielle plays Jordan, and Naughty Dog says the rest of the cast will be revealed later. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are writing the score. Naughty Dog calls it the deepest gameplay in its history.

This page is updated as soon as Naughty Dog or Sony announces a release date or window for Intergalactic.
