Battlefield 7 release date: not announced, and EA is keeping Battlefield 6 going through 2027
Battlefield 7 doesn't have a release date, because EA hasn't announced it. Battlefield 6, released on Oct. 10, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, is the current game, and EA says it'll keep getting new content throughout 2027. Its fifth season, Siege of Vegas, started on Oct. 13, 2026, and Battlefield 6 sold more than 7 million copies in its first three days, the biggest launch in the series.
Battlefield 6 just turned one, and EA is planning another full year for it before saying anything about a sequel. Here’s what’s official about Battlefield 7.
When does Battlefield 7 come out?
There’s no release date, because EA hasn’t announced Battlefield 7. It hasn’t revealed a title, a setting, a platform or a trailer, and dates and videos shared online under that name aren’t official.
The current game is Battlefield 6, which came out on Oct. 10, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The standard edition is $69.99 on Steam, on sale for $27.99 until Oct. 20, 2026.
EA’s plan: more Battlefield 6 through 2027
On Oct. 2, 2026, the Battlefield team laid out its second year. “Throughout 2027, we’ll continue delivering new content for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC,” the team wrote, naming more immersive vehicle gameplay, gunplay changes and a review of explosives as areas it’s exploring. The first year brought four seasons of content, the return of Railway to Golmud and Wake Island, and naval warfare.
Season 5: Siege of Vegas, the start of Year 2, launched on Oct. 13, 2026. It added two Battlefield 6 maps, Vegas Strip and Area 51, a faster battle royale mode called Rapid Royale in the free-to-play REDSEC, and a Dead Space Halloween event. EA released a Game of the Year Edition the same day, and Battlefield 6 joined Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass through EA Play, as our new on Game Pass page covers. A free trial with every available map and mode runs on Steam until 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 20.
