Battlefield 6 Season 5 release date: Siege of Vegas launched Oct. 13, with Casino Heist on Nov. 10 and Frozen Aces on Dec. 8

Battlefield 6 goes to Las Vegas. Here’s when Season 5 launched, what’s on the roadmap for November and December and how long the free trial lasts.

When did Battlefield 6 Season 5 come out?

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, according to EA. Game Update 2.1.1.0 went up for download on every platform at 8:00 UTC, which was 4 a.m. ET, and the Season 5 content unlocked at 12:00 UTC, or 8 a.m. ET and 5 a.m. PT. EA released its update notes a day earlier, on Oct. 12.

Season 5 is called Siege of Vegas, and it starts Year 2 for Battlefield 6 and the free-to-play battle royale REDSEC. Battlefield 6 itself came out on Oct. 10, 2025, and its first year brought four seasons of content, naval warfare and the return of maps like Wake Island.

What’s in Season 5

Two new Battlefield 6 maps opened on launch day. Vegas Strip sends squads through casinos, hotel interiors, crowded streets and storm drains, with helicopters weaving between the towers. Area 51 puts tanks, helicopters and jets over the desert base while infantry fights through tunnels under a giant crater.

REDSEC gets Rapid Royale, a faster battle royale for Trios or Solos with smaller player counts, high-value loot and redeploys earned through eliminations. A new Ranked Battle Royale season starts too, along with REDSEC’s Open Series, and Multiplayer adds Leaderboards. The four new weapons are the Mk 24 assault rifle, the RSPR submachine gun, the Z84M light machine gun and the ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle. The Season 5 Battle Pass has six instant unlocks, four themed paths and more than 100 tiers. Gauntlet left the game when the season started.

Battlefield 6 Season 5 roadmap

EA splits the season into three drops. Siege of Vegas launched on Oct. 13. Casino Heist follows on Nov. 10, with a limited-time event and a new infantry-focused map, the European Casino, where destruction opens new paths across the gaming floors.

Frozen Aces closes out the roadmap on Dec. 8. It brings Operation High Roller, two long-requested features, Platoons and a Server Browser, updated versions of Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City, new weapons and gear and a new vehicle, the B-81 Cavalry. REDSEC’s Elite Series, with cash prizes, also arrives later in the season. EA hasn’t announced when Season 5 ends.

The Dead Space event

EA is bringing Dead Space back to Battlefield for Halloween. In the Convergence Event, a limited-time crossover, soldiers find a mysterious Marker deep inside the Area 51 facility, and its influence starts to spread. EA hasn’t given the event’s exact dates and says more details come closer to the event.

Battlefield 6 free trial

Battlefield 6 is free to try on PlayStation and Steam from Oct. 15 to 19, with every available map and mode, according to EA. EA’s post on Steam puts the end of the Steam trial at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 20, and EA says the trial period may vary by platform. Xbox isn’t part of this trial, but Battlefield 6 joined Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass through EA Play on Oct. 13, as our new on Game Pass page covers. What comes after Season 5

EA hasn’t announced Season 6. The Battlefield team says Battlefield 6 and REDSEC keep getting new content throughout 2027, and it’s exploring more immersive vehicle gameplay, further gunplay changes and a review of gadget and vehicle explosives.
