Verizon iPhone Handoff monthly fee: $10 a month to use one number on two iPhones
Verizon will charge $10 a month for iPhone Handoff, the iOS 27 feature that lets two iPhones share one phone number. Verizon announced the price on Oct. 16, 2026, alongside its iPhone Duo pre-orders, and says the feature is coming soon, without a launch date. T-Mobile, the only US carrier Apple lists for iPhone Handoff at launch, charges $5 a month.

Verizon put a price on using one number across two iPhones. Here’s what iPhone Handoff costs on Verizon, when it arrives and how it works.
$10 a month. Verizon announced the price on Oct. 16, 2026, in the same announcement as its iPhone Duo pre-orders. By simple arithmetic, that’s $120 a year on top of your plan. Verizon says the feature is coming soon and works on compatible iPhone models running iOS 27, but it hasn’t given a start date.
That’s twice what T-Mobile charges. T-Mobile’s price is $5 a month, and it’s the only US carrier Apple lists for iPhone Handoff so far. AT&T isn’t on Apple’s list.
What iPhone Handoff does. Apple introduced iPhone Handoff with iOS 27. It lets one phone number live on two iPhones, for example a pocketable iPhone Duo on the go and an iPhone 18 Pro for work, as Verizon puts it. Your number is active on only one iPhone at a time, and it switches to whichever one you unlock. Calls, voicemail, messages and your Find My location follow it, and the iPhone shows a “Switched to this iPhone” message.
One iPhone stays the main one. Apple says some carrier services, such as call forwarding, caller ID and account management, only work from the main iPhone, and your Apple Watch stays paired to one of them.
What you need. You need two iPhones on iOS 27 or later, signed in to the same Apple Account, with Messages in iCloud turned on and an eSIM from a carrier that supports iPhone Handoff. You can set it up when you set up a new iPhone or later in Settings. Wallet cards work on both phones, but Apple says some transit passes, IDs and badges may only work on one at a time.
For the phone most people will pair it with, see our iPhone Duo release date and price page, which also covers Verizon’s and T-Mobile’s iPhone Duo deals.
This page is updated as soon as Verizon announces when iPhone Handoff goes live.
