Wuhu Island is back, and it’s a Switch 2 exclusive. Here’s when Nintendo Switch Sports Resort comes out, what it costs and every sport in it.

When does Nintendo Switch Sports Resort come out?

On Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, only on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo showed it in the Nintendo Direct of June 9, 2026, and pre-orders are open on the Nintendo eShop. The original Switch doesn’t get a version.

Price, physical edition and bundle

The digital version costs $49.99 on the Nintendo eShop. Nintendo’s own store lists the physical edition at $59.99, and a Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle at $529.99. The download takes about 11 GB, and the game is rated E10+ for mild violence.

All 12 sports

Two sports are new. In Thumb Wrestling, you pin your opponent’s thumb for three seconds to win, and holding your thumb down makes it bigger and stronger. In Skateboarding, you use a Joy-Con 2 controller as a mouse to grind rails, slide and perform aerial tricks.

The other 10 return: Power Cruising, Archery, Bowling, Table Tennis, Boxing, Prop Plane, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and Golf. Wind can affect your shots in Archery, you can twist the controller to add spin in Bowling or a boost in Power Cruising, and in Prop Plane you tilt the controller to speed up, roll and shoot balloons. Jump Rope works as a warm-up before you start.

Modes: Pro League, Sightseeing Tour and Island Crown

Online, Pro League ranks you against players around the world, Casual Online Play drops the rankings, and a Friend Lobby gathers up to eight friends. Sightseeing Tour lets you explore Wuhu Island in Power Cruising, Prop Plane and Skateboarding at three different times of day, collecting Spocco Photos and completing missions. In Island Crown, you climb the rankings from 20th to 1st, and Nintendo hints that the best players get to face the island’s Legend.

You play as a Sportsmate or your Mii, and the Spocco Points you earn unlock cosmetic items in the Item Center.

Players and controls

Up to four people can play on one Switch 2, and from two to 16 online, which requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership. The eShop lists TV mode and tabletop mode only, with no handheld play, and some multiplayer setups need extra controllers.
