Sanrio’s first console game from its own game brand turns Hello Kitty and Friends into a party on Oct. 29. Here’s when Hello Kitty Party Land comes out, what each edition costs and which version to buy.
When does Hello Kitty Party Land come out?
Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco Entertainment publishes the game for Sanrio, and the Nintendo eShop lists Oct. 29 for both versions. Digital pre-orders opened on July 24, 2026, a month and a half after the June 9 announcement.
The game is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB, for Comic Mischief, and PEGI 3 in Europe. Bandai Namco releases it only on Nintendo’s consoles, with no PlayStation, Xbox or PC version.
Price and editions
The Standard Edition costs $49.99 on the Nintendo eShop, and the price is the same for the Switch 2 and Switch versions. Every edition comes with bonus avatar T-shirts for pre-orders, so your custom character starts with a few extra outfits.
Bandai Namco also sells two editions with physical extras. The Day 1 Edition adds a coloring book and a sticker pack. The Premium Edition adds a sticker pack, a coloring book, hologram cards and a plush keychain. Bandai Namco’s pages don’t list prices for either. Expected price: $49.99 for the Day 1 Edition and about $69.99 for the Premium Edition, our estimates, since a coloring book and stickers are small launch extras, while a plush and collector cards push the Premium Edition higher.
Switch 2 or Switch: which version to buy
Pick the version that matches your console. The Switch 2 version runs only on Switch 2, and the Switch version is a separate purchase. There’s no Switch 2 upgrade pack, and save data can’t be shared between the two, so buying the Switch version and moving to Switch 2 later means starting over.

On Switch 2, the game supports TV, tabletop and handheld modes, and Save Data Cloud backups work with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. For a household with only an original Switch, the Switch version at the same $49.99 is the one to get.
45 mini games and three board games
The heart of the game is Game Park, where you play three board game adventures and more than 45 original mini games. The mini games are themed after sports, food, music and more, and they mix competitive and cooperative play as you complete objectives for your favorite Sanrio characters. In Board Game Mode, quick Petit Games keep everyone busy while waiting for their turn.

Bandai Namco built the controls for newcomers and experienced players alike, and the game works solo or with friends. Up to four players can play on one console or online, and online play requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Life in Party Land
Beyond the games, Party Land is a small town to explore. The Shopping Mall sells new outfits, accessories and Sanrio-themed costumes. Sky Farm lets you grow fruits and vegetables and go fishing among the clouds, and a mysterious cave on the farm hides secrets. The Creative Labo offers drawing, music creation and puzzle challenges, and the Photo Studio captures moments with friends and characters.

You start by designing your own avatar, from hairstyles to outfits, and you unlock more items as you play. You can play as that avatar or as your partner character.
145 Sanrio characters
More than 145 Sanrio characters appear across Party Land, and you collect their stickers to fill your sticker book as you meet them. 16 of them are playable partners, and the cast includes Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Kuromi and Gudetama.
The game comes from G-Style, and it’s the first console title from Sanrio Games, Sanrio’s own game brand.
Who is Hello Kitty Party Land for?
Families and Sanrio fans first. The E for Everyone rating, the simple controls and the short mini games make it easy to hand a controller to a younger player, while the board games and four-player online matches give older kids and adults a reason to keep playing together. Bandai Namco pitches it as fun for all ages, and solo players get plenty to do between parties: the farm, the shops, the creative activities and a sticker book with more than 145 characters to fill.

Launch day on Switch 2
Oct. 29 is a busy day on Nintendo’s console. Steins;Gate Re:Boot ($59.99) and Joe & Mac Retro Collection come out the same day, and Nintendo releases the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 for $519.99.
