Peak PS5 release date: Oct. 22, 2026, with Xbox, Switch 2, crossplay and a physical edition

The co-op climbing hit leaves PC next week. Here’s when Peak comes out on PS5, Xbox and Switch 2, and what’s official on crossplay, price and the physical edition.

When does Peak come out on PS5?

On Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026. Team Peak announced the date on the PlayStation Blog on Oct. 15. Its Steam announcement from the same day says the update that brings the console versions goes live at 8 a.m. PT, or 11 a.m. ET, along with general fixes for the PC version.

Xbox, Switch 2 and crossplay

Peak isn’t only coming to PlayStation. Team Peak’s Steam announcement says the game comes to PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 the same week, so you can climb with friends on any of them. As of Oct. 17, 2026, neither the Xbox store nor the Nintendo eShop lists the game yet.

Crossplay is the point of the launch. Up to four players can climb together, whatever platform each one uses, and Team Peak ties it to the game’s most important rule: never abandon a friend in need.

Price and the physical PS5 edition

Team Peak hasn’t announced console prices in its Oct. 15 posts. On Steam, the game costs $7.99.

On PS5, there’s also a physical edition from Skybound. It includes a disc with the base game, a buddy code for a friend and a printed passport with stickers that let you customize your Peak character in real life. Pre-orders are open at retailers, but Team Peak says it won’t ship until later in 2026.

What do you get on PS5?

The whole game as it stands on PC. Team Peak says the PS5 version includes all content updates, biomes and new items added since the game launched on Steam on June 16, 2025, including custom runs, which let you make a climb easier or harder and even kick your friends.

Peak is a co-op climbing game in which you play solo or as a group of lost nature scouts. The only way off a mysterious island is to climb the mountain at its center, through four biomes on each run, while you scavenge questionable food, manage injuries that cut your stamina and dodge hazards from tornadoes and poison clouds to birds and zombies.

Who makes Peak?

Team Peak, a collaboration between Aggro Crab, the Seattle studio behind Another Crab’s Treasure, and Landfall, the Stockholm studio behind Content Warning and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Three Aggro Crab developers and four from Landfall built the first version in a one-month game jam in Seoul in February 2025, then finished it together in Sweden that June.
