Ninja Gaiden 4’s DLC, The Two Masters, came out on March 4, 2026, and costs $14.99. Here’s what it adds, how to unlock it and where a second DLC stands.

When did the Ninja Gaiden 4 DLC come out?

The Two Masters launched on March 4, 2026, at midnight UTC, which was 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 3, in the US. It arrived on Xbox Series X and S, PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store, and PS5, the same platforms as the game, which launched in October 2025.

Team Ninja announced the date on Feb. 26, 2026, a week before launch, and reset every leaderboard on March 4 so all players started fresh with the new content. A free update went out the same day.

What The Two Masters adds

The DLC picks up after the main story. With the Dark Dragon gone and clear skies over Tokyo, a new enemy tries to tear open a doorway to another dimension, and with the Divine Dragon Order in ruins, Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa join forces. It adds three new playable chapters set in a sunlit Tokyo, with new bosses, new fiends and new trials.

Two new weapons come with it. Yakumo’s Solitaire scythe is built for ranged attacks and crowd control, and Ryu’s Jakotsumon serpent gauntlets deliver rapid strikes and new ways to close distance. There’s also Abyssal Road, an endurance mode of back-to-back fights with new mechanics, escalating pressure and rewards that power up both ninjas, plus new accessories and achievements.

How to unlock the DLC

The three story chapters open once you’ve finished the base game’s main story on any difficulty, and Team Ninja tuned their difficulty with that in mind. Abyssal Road and the new trials unlock after you complete The Two Masters story.

The Solitaire and Jakotsumon weapons unlock immediately for every DLC owner. If you haven’t cleared the tutorial yet, they appear from the Bloodsoaked Tokyo chapter.

Price and editions

The Two Masters costs $14.99 on Steam. The Deluxe Edition Upgrade at $20.00 includes the DLC plus the Traditional Dark Blue and Legendary Black Falcon Ryu skins, the Divine Chimera and Raven Master Yakumo skins, the Divine Chimera weapon set, 50,000 NinjaCoin and in-game items such as Life Elixirs. The Deluxe Edition at $89.99 includes the game and all of that, against $69.99 for the standard edition. These were the Steam prices on Oct. 19, 2026.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The Two Masters is a separate purchase for Game Pass members, the same split Xbox uses for The Outer Worlds 2 DLC.

The free update that came with it

Every player got a free update on March 4. It added a Weapon Sets feature for customizing the weapon and Ninpo wheel, an option to skip the sequence after you die, and controller and keyboard layout options at first boot. It also added invincibility frames to the startup of several moves, made Wind Run home in slightly better, shortened loading times and fixed progress-blocking bugs in chapters 6, 8, 11 and 19.

Is a second Ninja Gaiden 4 DLC coming?

Team Ninja hasn’t announced a second DLC. The Deluxe Edition listed The Two Masters as its future gameplay content, and that promise was delivered on March 4. Since then, the game’s last Steam announcement is the March 4 update. Expected price for a second DLC: about $14.99, our estimate, the price of the first.
