Minecraft Dungeons 2 DLC release date: two DLCs are planned, with no dates yet

Minecraft Dungeons II has been out for less than three weeks, and its first DLC is already paid for by Deluxe owners. Here’s what’s official.

When does the Minecraft Dungeons 2 DLC come out?

Mojang hasn’t said. The game’s official page and its store listings promise two DLCs, called DLC 1 and 2 for now, and mark them as available as released. There’s no date, window, name or description for either one yet.

The game is developed by Mojang Studios with Double Eleven and published by Xbox Game Studios. The first Minecraft Dungeons got six DLCs over its life, which are now sold together as the Ultimate DLC Bundle.

How do you get the DLC?

The simplest way is the Deluxe Edition, which costs $49.99 on Steam and includes the base game, four dark-gold hero skins, the Soul Cape, the Blub pet and both DLCs when they come out. If you already own the game, the Deluxe Upgrade costs $19.99 on Steam and adds the same content. The standard game costs $29.99 on Steam.

Mojang hasn’t said whether the DLCs will also be sold on their own.

What has the game added since launch?

Two updates so far. On Oct. 1, 2026, the game became playable on Steam Deck, with full Steam Deck verification still to come, and a balance change on all platforms raised the emerald cap from 9,999 to 99,999. On Oct. 8, hotfix 1.1.2.0 fixed a series of crashes and blurry visuals at Ultra graphics quality, and Mojang said more fixes are on the way.

Which platforms is it on?

Minecraft Dungeons II is on Windows, Steam, Xbox Series X and S, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s on Game Pass. On Nintendo’s consoles, the physical copy is the Deluxe Edition, as our Minecraft Dungeons 2 on Switch 2 page explains. You can play solo or with up to four players, in couch co-op, online through cross-play or in mixed co-op, which lets two or more players on one console or PC join others online. Online co-op on consoles needs each platform’s subscription. The ESRB rates it E10+.

What is the Sift?

The Sift is the game’s new dimension, reached through rifts that have opened across the Overworld, and Mojang calls it the first new dimension in over 14 years. In the story, the illagers are back under the Illager High Council, led by the Prime Enchanter, the Supreme Evoker and the Grand Illusioner, and their plans reach into the Sift.
