Indy’s first-person adventure fits in your hands, at 30 fps and with a full-size download. Here’s what the Switch 2 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle costs and how it plays.

When did Indiana Jones come out on Switch 2?

On May 12, 2026. The game first came out on Xbox Series X and S and PC in December 2024 and later on PS5. Nintendo’s US eShop sells it for $69.99, the same as Steam, and it’s rated T for Teen by the ESRB. It’s a single-player adventure set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, from MachineGames, the studio behind the recent Wolfenstein games, with Todd Howard as executive producer.

Nintendo’s US store lists only the Standard Edition for Switch 2. The Order of Giants, a story expansion set in Rome, is sold separately for $19.99, and it came out on Switch 2 the same day as the game. Bethesda also gave every player the Shanghai Club outfit for free with the Switch 2 launch.

How does it run on Switch 2?

At 30 fps. Creative director Axel Torvenius told Nintendo that the team wanted the Switch 2 version to be no different from the game on other platforms, and to do that, it capped the frame rate at 30. In Torvenius' words, “the game is running smooth and solid at 30,” and it holds up well in handheld mode.

The studio didn’t cut content to make it fit. Torvenius said the team didn’t have to rework puzzles or navigation, and that it’s exactly the game MachineGames originally developed. Bethesda’s notes for Update 8 say many CPU optimizations were made across the game ahead of the Switch 2 cartridge release.

What controls does it support?

More than other versions. Bethesda says the Switch 2 version supports mouse controls and motion controls, and Torvenius pointed to gyro aiming and looking around the world. Update 8, the day one patch, added the mouse controls: you turn them on in the Options menu, under the Controller tab, with the Mouse Controls Look setting.

The game plays in TV, tabletop and handheld modes, with HDR output on compatible TVs and surround sound. Cloud saves need a Nintendo Switch Online membership, and the Polish language needs an internet connection and a download.

How big is it?

Nintendo’s store data puts the game at about 57.3 GB, so you may need a microSD Express card if your internal storage is full. Bethesda’s Update 8 notes refer to a Switch 2 cartridge release, while Nintendo’s US store sells the digital Standard Edition.
