Fallout 4 on Switch 2: the Anniversary Edition costs $59.99, runs at up to 60 fps and has no mods menu

Fallout 4 finally reached a Nintendo console, ten years after launch, with a choice of frame rates. Here’s what the Switch 2 version costs, includes and how it runs.

When did Fallout 4 come out on Switch 2?

On Feb. 24, 2026. Bethesda says it was the first time Fallout 4 came to a Nintendo console, about ten years after the game’s 2015 launch. Nintendo’s US eShop sells Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition for $59.99, and it’s rated M for Mature by the ESRB. A bundle with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition costs $89.99.

The Anniversary Edition has the full base game and the six official add-ons: Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop and Nuka-World. It also includes more than 150 Creation Club items, from weapons and power armor sets to building packs and new looks for Dogmeat, like a husky or a Dalmatian.

How does it run on Switch 2?

You choose. Bethesda says you can set the frame rate target to 30, 40 or 60 under Settings and Display in the main menu, with a trade-off in visual quality to reach the higher targets. In docked mode, the 40 fps option needs a screen that supports 120 Hz, and Nintendo’s store lists 120 Hz output on compatible TVs.

Bethesda’s support site also says DLSS is planned for an upcoming patch. It hasn’t given a date. The game supports surround sound, and cloud saves need a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Can you use mods?

No. Bethesda says the Switch 2 version has no Creations menu, the in-game store where other versions download mods and paid Creations. The 150+ Creations included in the Anniversary Edition are built into the game instead.

It’s still a big install. Nintendo’s store data puts the game at about 64.2 GB, so you may need a microSD Express card if your internal storage is full.

Is there a physical copy?

Yes, but the game isn’t on it. Bethesda says a physical code-in-box version is available for Switch 2, so you download the game either way. Nintendo’s US store sells only the digital edition.
