GTA 6 PC release date: is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Rockstar Games has not announced GTA 6 for PC. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — and that is the full list. There is no PC date, no PC window and no Steam page.

What Rockstar and Take-Two have said

Every Rockstar announcement since the first trailer in December 2023 names the same two consoles. The November 2025 post that set the current date reads: GTA 6 “will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.” The trailer posts, the pre-order post from June 2026 and the Extended Look post from August all repeat “PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.”

Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, is just as specific. Its first-quarter report for fiscal 2027, published August 7, 2026, lists upcoming releases in a table. The GTA 6 row says: PS5, Xbox Series X|S — November 19, 2026. PC is not in it.

The stores agree. Sony’s page lists PS5 and PS5 Pro, Microsoft’s store lists Xbox Series X|S, and a search of Steam on October 14 returned no GTA 6 page.

How long PC players waited last time

Rockstar has a pattern: consoles first, PC later. Its last two big open-world games both reached PC a year or more after the console launch.

1. Sep 17, 2013GTA 5 launches on PS3 and Xbox 360
2. Apr 14, 2015GTA 5 arrives on PC — 19 months later
3. Oct 26, 2018Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on PS4 and Xbox One
4. Nov 5, 2019Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives on PC — about a year later
5. Nov 19, 2026GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S — PC not announced

That history is a pattern, not a promise. Rockstar has not said a PC version is in development, and it has not ruled one out.

Can you play GTA 6 on a PC at all?

Yes, if you own a PS5. Sony’s PS Remote Play app for Windows and Mac streams your console to your computer over your home network, and Sony lists Remote Play among GTA 6’s PS5 features. The game still runs on the PS5 — the PC is a screen and controller hub.

Cloud streaming without a console is a different story. Neither Sony nor Microsoft has announced GTA 6 for a cloud streaming catalog.

“GTA 6 PC in 2027” claims

Search for a GTA 6 PC date and you will find specific months and years. None of them come from Rockstar or Take-Two. Pogwire treats every PC date as unconfirmed until one of the two companies announces it.

The next scheduled moment to watch is Take-Two’s second-quarter earnings on Monday, November 9, 2026, after the market closes — ten days before launch. Take-Two updates its release table with each report. This story will be updated the moment a PC version is announced.

Should PC players buy a console?

That depends on how long you are willing to wait. If the gap matches GTA 5, a PC version would land around mid-2028; if it matches Red Dead Redemption 2, around late 2027. Both are guesses based on history — not dates. The standard edition costs $79.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; the Ultimate Edition is $99.99.
