Dead Space 4 release date: EA hasn't announced a sequel, 13 years after Dead Space 3
Dead Space 4 doesn't have a release date, because EA hasn't announced it. The last new story in the series, Dead Space 3, came out in February 2013, and EA's most recent Dead Space game is the remake of the original, which launched on Jan. 27, 2023. EA hasn't revealed another Dead Space project since.
Dead Space turned 18 in October 2026, and fans are still asking for a fourth game. Here’s what EA has actually said, which isn’t much.
When does Dead Space 4 come out?
There’s no release date, because EA hasn’t announced Dead Space 4. It hasn’t revealed a sequel, a studio or a platform, and dates shared online aren’t official. Story details presented as Dead Space 4 leaks haven’t been confirmed by EA either.
By simple arithmetic, it has been about 13 years since Dead Space 3 came out in February 2013. For other big games still waiting on dates, see our list of upcoming games in 2027.
Was Dead Space 4 cancelled?
There’s no cancellation to report, because EA never announced the game. Dead Space 3 ended on a cliffhanger, and Visceral Games, the studio behind the first three games, closed in 2017. Former developers have said in interviews that pitches for a new game were turned down, but EA hasn’t confirmed those accounts or commented on a sequel.
What the Dead Space remake changed
EA brought the series back with a remake instead of a sequel. It announced the project in July 2021, and Motive, its studio in Montreal, rebuilt the original 2008 game from the ground up on the Frostbite engine. The remake came out on Jan. 27, 2023, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it’s $59.99 on Steam.
Fans have asked for a Dead Space 2 remake ever since. EA hasn’t announced one, and reports that one was explored and then put on hold haven’t been confirmed by EA.
EA hasn’t said. The company became private on Aug. 4, 2026, after a group of investors completed its purchase, and it hasn’t announced any change to its plans for Dead Space. For another EA series fans are waiting on, see the Mass Effect 5 release date page.
The original trilogy is still easy to find. Dead Space came out in October 2008, Dead Space 2 in January 2011 and Dead Space 3 in 2013, and Dead Space 3 is $19.99 on Steam.
This page is updated as soon as EA announces a new Dead Space game or a Dead Space 2 remake.
