THE FINALS PRIME TIME update: Season 12 brings The Infiltrator, Solo Showdown and a destruction overhaul

Embark Studios launched PRIME TIME, Season 12 of THE FINALS, on Oct. 20, 2026, with Update 12.0 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. Embark calls it the biggest upgrade to the game's destruction since the Dec. 7, 2023, launch: buildings sag and bend under Gradual Destruction, explosions throw the world around with new Blast Waves, and debris piles grow as structures fall. The Light class gets The Infiltrator, a new Playstyle with three tools: True Sight, the Mimic Device and the Translocator. Solo Showdown, a 12-player solo tournament, launches in beta, and Monaco, Seoul, Skyway Stadium and Las Vegas Stadium are reworked. THE FINALS stays free to play. On Steam, it peaked at 27,930 players on Oct. 23 and climbed from 93rd to 64th on Valve's most-played chart in a week, and 14,358 players were in the game at 3:07 a.m. ET on Oct. 24.

THE FINALS has rebuilt its destruction for Season 12. Here’s what Update 12.0 adds, how Solo Showdown works and every major balance change.

What’s in THE FINALS PRIME TIME

Embark released PRIME TIME on Oct. 20, 2026, as Update 12.0, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. In September, Embark said it had planned the year around one bigger goal instead of three separate seasons, focused on improving the existing game, and PRIME TIME brings much of that work together before THE FINALS turns three in December.

Gradual Destruction lets buildings hinge, sag, bend and deform across every map, and Embark rebalanced destruction on each one. Suspended Structures turn into Swinging Structures that hang from physics-enabled ropes. Blast Waves make explosions push debris, dent walls, snap trees and throw objects, and they come from the Breach Charge, C4, RPG-7, Frag Grenade, CL-40, MGL-32, Orbital Lasers and more.

Debris piles build up as buildings crumble, and smoke and toxic gas clouds wrap around the environment and thin out briefly after explosions. Embark also upgraded the physics engine to carry the extra load.

The Infiltrator and the Light class. The Infiltrator brings a new Specialization and two gadgets to the Light Playstyle:

  • True SightReveals opponents through smoke, including cloaked or disguised Contestants.
  • Mimic DeviceScans an object and disguises the player as it.
  • TranslocatorMarks an object and swaps the player’s position with it within range.

Light also gets more health, up from 150 to 175, while Heavy drops from 350 to 325 and moves faster. Embark made both changes permanent after its Respec Order test.

Solo Showdown puts 12 Contestants into a three-round tournament for Cash. The four Contestants with the least Cash drop out as the rounds go on, and the one with the most Cash at the end wins. Each round comes from eight mini-modes: Blast Off, Heavy Hitters, Boom Brawl, Slam-A-Rama, Sniper Standoff, Winch Wars, Turbo Tussle and One and Gunned. It launches in beta, and Embark plans a leaderboard shortly after the season starts.

Monaco gets new house interiors, penthouses and attics plus redesigned areas with new cover and routes. Seoul gets a new building and a new Cashout Station, Skyway Stadium gets a redesigned Mansion, and Las Vegas Stadium gets new power positions. Las Vegas Sandstorm returns in place of the original Las Vegas map, and a new lighting system covers every Arena. The Double Jump event replaces Low Gravity in the Game Show Event rotation.

Sponsors, Battle Pass and Halloween. Sponsors turn into an active Sponsor Journey. After four matches, players sign with OSPUZE, ALFA ACTA or ISEUL-T, complete Challenges of three to five Contracts and claim outfits, weapon skins and other free rewards. Fans, earned through positive in-game actions, Signature Plays and Seasonal Events, replace World Tour Points. The Premium Battle Pass, bought with Multibucks, unlocks up to 106 rewards and 1,650 Multibucks, and the Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle costs $29.99 on Steam.

The Frights Galore Halloween event awards up to three tickets a day from daily contracts for a prize wheel of 20 rewards, and the Bebe the Barricade Twitch Drops run until Nov. 5, 2026. Embark’s other shooter is covered on our ARC Raiders player count and ARC Raiders PvE mode pages. Our Modern Warfare 4 player count page compares THE FINALS with other shooters on Steam.
