Gran Turismo’s 30th anniversary has its own DualSense, and Sony is making a limited number. Here’s what it costs, when pre-orders open and when it ships.
How much is the Gran Turismo DualSense?
The DualSense Wireless Controller - Gran Turismo Limited Edition has a recommended price of $84.99 in the US, £74.99 in the UK, €84.99 in Europe and ¥12,480 in Japan, tax included. Sony notes that retailers set their own prices.
That’s the same price Sony charges for its two GTA 6 limited-edition controllers, which launch on Nov. 19, as our GTA 6 controller page explains.
Pre-orders open Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. ET. Pre-orders start on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. local time. In the US, that means 10 a.m. ET on PlayStation Direct, Sony’s own store. In the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, Sony takes pre-orders at 10 a.m. local time through its online hardware store.
Participating retailers worldwide take pre-orders from the same day. When we checked PlayStation Direct’s US accessories page on the morning of Oct. 19, it didn’t list the controller yet.
The controller launches worldwide on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2026, according to Sony and Polyphony Digital. Orders placed on Oct. 22 wait about seven weeks for delivery, which puts the launch a little more than two weeks before Christmas.
Limited quantities. Sony says the controller is available in limited quantities globally and that PlayStation Direct sells it only while supplies last. Sony’s last limited DualSense shows how fast they go: the white GTA 6 controller was already out of stock at PlayStation Direct on Oct. 18, a month before its launch.
For anyone set on getting one, the safest window is the start of pre-orders at 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 22.
Sony has two other limited-edition DualSense designs this fall, the Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and White Limited Edition. They cost the same $84.99, £74.99 and €84.99, opened for pre-order on Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. ET, and launch on Nov. 19, the same day as GTA 6.
The Gran Turismo controller follows the same pattern three weeks later, with pre-orders on Oct. 22 and a launch on Dec. 10. If you want both, plan for $169.98 before tax for one GTA 6 controller and the Gran Turismo edition at their recommended prices.
The controller has a white base with two black racing stripes running down the center, motorsport-inspired graphics and a textured, carbon fiber-style front plate. Sony’s photos show a 30 race number roundel and the Gran Turismo logo on the grips, and a black back with the Gran Turismo emblem.
Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi said the series began with a vision to “share the beauty and joy of the automobile,” and called the controller a celebration of the journey shared with players.
The original Gran Turismo came out in 1997, so its 30th anniversary falls in 2027, and Polyphony Digital has started the celebration early. On the same day Sony announced the controller, Gran Turismo 7 got Part 1 of its free Spec IV update, with six new cars and the SUGO circuit, and Part 2 follows in December, as our GT7 Spec IV page details.
The Gran Turismo World Series 2026 season also ends in December, with the World Finals in Tokyo on Dec. 5 and 6, five days before the controller launches. Tickets sell through Lawson Ticket in Japan, from 3,000 yen for a one-day A Seating ticket to 15,000 yen for a two-day Premium ticket with a limited-edition T-shirt and an autograph session.
The controller works like any DualSense on PS5, with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and pairs with a PC as well. For console prices and holiday sales, see our PS5 price and PS5 Black Friday 2026 pages.
This page is updated as soon as the Gran Turismo DualSense goes live on PlayStation Direct on Oct. 22.
