Gran Turismo 7’s Spec IV update is here, and this is only Part 1. Here’s every new car, where to buy it, the new track and the features that came with version 1.72.

When did GT7 Spec IV come out?

Polyphony Digital released Part 1 of the Spec IV update, version 1.72, at 11 p.m. PT on Oct. 14, 2026, which was 2 a.m. ET on Oct. 15, 7 a.m. BST and 3 p.m. JST. It’s free for every Gran Turismo 7 player on PS5 and PS4, and the game needs an internet connection to download it.

Polyphony Digital split Spec IV in two because of how much it contains, with Part 2 due in December, and it hasn’t given the exact day. The update also refreshes the cinematic intro that plays when the game starts.

Every new car in Spec IV Part 1

Part 1 adds six cars, and each sits in a specific dealership. Buying any of them costs in-game credits, earned through races or bought with real money.

The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is an electric hypercar sold in Brand Central. Xiaomi says its design reaches a drag coefficient of 0.29 with a downforce figure of -1.2, a balance of low drag and high downforce that impressed Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi. The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo '26, also in Brand Central, is a refined version of the four-rotor Gr.3 racer, and the Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line '23, a family minivan with platinum chrome accents, joins them there.

The Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94, with its Pininfarina body, and the Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston '86, the French people’s car built for 42 years from 1948, are in Used Cars. The Honda Civic Si Group A version '87, based on the Mugen Motul Civic that won its class in the 1987 All-Japan Touring Car Championship, is in Legend Cars.

The SUGO International Racing Course

The new track is the SUGO International Racing Course in Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan. It runs 3,586 meters, about 2.2 miles, with 13 corners, a 69.83-meter elevation change and a 704.5-meter main straight.

Its signature is the final corner, which climbs onto the main straight at a gradient of up to 10%. After the straight come the sweeping right-handers of Turns 1 and 2, then S-curves, hairpins and multi-apex sections, so the lap mixes flat-out speed with technical driving.

Six new World Circuits events

Spec IV adds six races to World Circuits. The Sunday Cup runs at Autopolis International Racing Course Short Course, the European Sunday Cup 400 at SUGO, the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy at Spa-Francorchamps, and the European Clubman Cup 600 at Dragon Trail Seaside Reverse.

SUGO also hosts the World Touring Car 600 and World Touring Car 800. Sony’s own suggestions pair the new cars with these events: the Xiaomi at Spa in the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy, the Civic in the Sunday Cup and the Mazda in World Touring Car.

Vintage, Car Concierge and Experience

Brand Central gets a Vintage section that showcases cars from 2000 and earlier, with shortcuts to the Legend Cars and Used Cars dealerships where they’re sold. Once you’ve reached the game’s ending, the new Car Concierge takes orders: pick a model from Vintage, a color and a condition, and it searches for a matching car, with up to four orders at once depending on your Collector Level.

The new Experience feature in Brand Central sets driving challenges built around a brand’s character, with records to chase. In Part 1, it covers Xiaomi, Yangwang, Hyundai and Polestar.

Car Viewer, Collector Level 90 and Scapes

Car Viewer, a new Garage feature, shows your current car from almost any angle. You can change the background, turn the front wheels and switch the lights on or off, which makes it a quick way to take photos without setting up a full Scapes shot.

The Collector Level cap rises from 70 to 90, and three Café Extra Menus come with it: No. 55, High-Performance EVs, at Collector Level 75, No. 56, Tuned GT-Rs, at 80, and No. 57, Le Mans Winners, at 90. Scapes adds two featured Curations, Angeles Crest Highway and Sportsland SUGO.

What’s coming in Spec IV Part 2

Polyphony Digital announced Spec IV on Sept. 3 as a two-part update with 12 new cars in total, so Part 2 brings six more, which the studio hasn’t named. Its headline track is Autumn Ring, a fictional circuit from the original 1997 Gran Turismo that comes to Gran Turismo 7 for the first time.

Part 2 also adds Family Mode, a starting point for family and friends with different levels of driving experience. Two online features announced in September, Online Drift Trials and Shuffle Races with randomized race conditions, weren’t in Part 1’s list of contents.

Gran Turismo’s 30th anniversary

Spec IV kicks off the run-up to Gran Turismo’s 30th anniversary in 2027. Sony marked it on Oct. 14 with the DualSense Wireless Controller - Gran Turismo Limited Edition, at $84.99, with pre-orders from Oct. 22 and a launch on Dec. 10, as our Gran Turismo DualSense page explains. The Gran Turismo World Series 2026 season ends with the World Finals in Tokyo on Dec. 5 and 6, after its Round 3 Sprint Race in Singapore ran at SUGO. If you don’t own the game, Sony offers My First GT as a free download on the PlayStation Store.

This page is updated as soon as Polyphony Digital sets the date for Spec IV Part 2 or names its six cars.
