Pokémon Worlds 2027: Singapore EXPO hosts the World Championships on Aug. 13 to 15, 2027, and UNITE isn't in it

Pokémon’s world title heads to Singapore. Here’s when the 2027 Pokémon World Championships run, which games are in and how players qualify.

When and where is Pokémon Worlds 2027?

Over the weekend of Friday, Aug. 13, to Sunday, Aug. 15, 2027, at Singapore EXPO, according to The Pokémon Company. It’s the first Pokémon World Championships in Singapore, and the company says the event makes its return to Asia. Tsunekazu Ishihara, the president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, revealed the dates and the venue as the last surprise of the 2026 Worlds closing ceremony in San Francisco, and a press release followed on Aug. 31, 2026.

Singapore is 12 hours ahead of ET in August, so a 9 a.m. start there is 9 p.m. ET the night before. The Pokémon Company hasn’t published a schedule and says more details will be shared later. Singapore also hosts Evo Singapore in January 2027, as our Evo 2027 page explains.

Which games are at Worlds 2027?

Pokémon UNITE is out. The UNITE team says the game won’t be part of the 2027 World Championships and gets a separate tournament instead, Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo, tentatively in late March 2027. Every team that wins its Regional Qualifier is invited to Tokyo, with travel awards included.

That leaves the three games of the 2027 Championship Series: Pokémon Champions, the video game played in the series, the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon GO. The video game and the card game each crown champions in three age divisions, Junior, Senior and Masters, while Pokémon GO crowns one.

How to qualify for Pokémon Worlds 2027

Most players earn their invitation through Championship Points. For the 2027 season, a set number of players from each rating zone, age division and game get invitations based on the Championship Points leaderboard, and the point tables give more points than before to lower finishers at Regional and International Championships. Players in Japan, South Korea, mainland China and the Asia-Pacific region qualify through their own regions' programs.

There’s also a direct route. The champion of each age division at every Regional and Special Championship gets a direct invitation, and so do the top four in each age division at each International Championships. The last International of the season is the North America International Championships, which moves to McCormick Place in Chicago for June 18 to 20, 2027, after three years in New Orleans.

Can you go to Pokémon Worlds 2027?

Not with a ticket yet. The Pokémon Company hasn’t announced spectator passes, prices or travel packages for Singapore. In San Francisco, Worlds ran alongside PokémonXP, a new fan event with panels and partner exhibits from LEGO, Funko, Build-A-Bear and others, and the company hasn’t said whether PokémonXP comes to Singapore too.

Who won Pokémon Worlds 2026?

Japan took most of the titles in San Francisco. Takuma Yamazaki won the video game Masters Division over Hiroshi Onishi, and Andrew Hedrick of the US won the card game Masters Division over Diego Cassiraga of Argentina. Kazuki Kage won the video game Junior Division, Vikram Thiagarajan of the UK the video game Senior Division, Yuta Araki the card game Junior Division and Jake Ng of Australia the card game Senior Division.

Hiroki Yamauchi won Pokémon GO, and Zeta Division won Pokémon UNITE over KOMAÏ, in UNITE’s last Worlds before its separate Tokyo event. For the next main series games, see our Pokémon Gen 10 release date page.

This page is updated as soon as The Pokémon Company announces Worlds 2027 tickets, the schedule and the invitation numbers.
