Spyro: A Realm Beyond comes out in spring 2027. Spyro: A Realm Beyond comes out in spring 2027. Activision hasn’t announced an exact day, and as of Oct. 17, 2026, both Steam and the PlayStation Store list the release date as still to be decided. The game was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, 2026.

Platforms and Game Pass
The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC through the Xbox app and Steam, cloud, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Xbox says it will be included with Game Pass, and with Xbox Play Anywhere, one purchase covers both Xbox console and PC. Activision hasn’t announced a price or editions yet.
What the game is about
Spyro is stranded in a strange new realm, and the search for a way home is interrupted by a vicious invading force called the Scavs. Spyro has to make new allies and protect the realm before it’s changed forever. A new villain raises the stakes, and Toys for Bob studio head Paul Yan says the story will push Spyro to new emotional depths.
The biggest change is free flight. In the classic games, Spyro could glide down from jumps and fly only in a few timed levels. In A Realm Beyond, Spyro can take to the skies at any moment, with a bigger wingspan in a redesigned look. Tom Kenny returns as Spyro’s voice.
A first look at Arcadian Vale
On Spyro Community Day in September 2026, when the series turned 28, Activision showed Arcadian Vale, one of the first regions you’ll reach. It’s a calm valley of waterfalls, cliffs and ancient stone monuments, full of small creatures. Activision says charging, jumping, gliding and collecting treasure are still at the core of the game, alongside flight.
Where to play Spyro now
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Toys for Bob’s remake of the first three games, came out on PS4 on Nov. 13, 2018, and on Steam on Sept. 3, 2019. It’s $39.99 on Steam. Toys for Bob also made Crash Bandicoot 4, and Activision hasn’t announced a Crash Bandicoot 5.
