Monster Hunter Outlanders release date: Thursday, Oct. 29, free on iOS and Android

Monster Hunter goes open world on phones on Oct. 29. Here’s when Outlanders launches, what it costs and what’s in the game on day one.

When does Monster Hunter Outlanders come out?

On Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, on iOS and Android. TiMi Studio Group and Level Infinite confirmed the date in late September, and Apple’s App Store lists Oct. 29 for the game, which is open for pre-order there and for pre-registration on Google Play. The launch covers every region except mainland China, where the game is scheduled from 2027. Outlanders is one of the Oct. 29 releases on our new games this week page.

What time does Monster Hunter Outlanders launch?

Level Infinite hasn’t announced the start time. App Store pre-orders download automatically once the game goes live, and Google Play installs the game automatically for players who pre-registered with automatic install turned on. This page adds the start time in ET, PT, London and Tokyo as soon as Level Infinite posts it.

Is Monster Hunter Outlanders free?

Yes. The official site calls Outlanders free-to-play, and both stores list in-app purchases. Google Play rates it Teen for violence and blood and flags in-game purchases that include random items. Apple’s App Store rates it 17+.

What’s in Monster Hunter Outlanders at launch

The game is set on Aesoland, a new island built as an open world, and the official site adds gathering resources and building facilities to the hunts. The App Store listing confirms eight weapon types: Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Charge Blade, Heavy Bowgun and Bow, with more weapons coming in updates. Each weapon pairs with an original Adventurer, and the pairings unlock new Follow-up moves.

The Hammer and the Charge Blade have no Adventurer among these nine, and the site promises more Adventurers. Three Buddies join the hunts: the series' cat companions, the Palicoes, and two species native to Aesoland, the builders called Rutaco and the Trillan, which back Adventurers up with their voices and melodies.

The headline monster is Ruger Aidal, an original Elder Dragon wrapped in light. Outlanders also adds Radiant monsters, versions corrupted by a crystal called Radiantite: Radiant Rathian, Radiant Anjanath, Radiant Diablos, Radiant Kulu-Ya-Ku and Radiant Rathalos, alongside the classic Rathalos and Pink Rathian. Players hunt solo or in squads of four.

A separate social media milestone, 2 million followers on the official accounts, adds 5 more Standard Contracts.

Requirements and languages

On iPhone and iPad, Outlanders needs iOS 15 or later, and the App Store lists a size of about 3.6 GB. The App Store version supports English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai and Chinese. TiMi Studio Group, the Tencent studio behind Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings, develops the game, and Level Infinite publishes it, with Garena handling Southeast Asia.
