Free Fire India went live on Oct. 28, 2026, as a standalone free app on Google Play and the App Store, according to Garena. It's built for India, with servers in the country and parental consent for players under 18. Garena's support FAQ sets the limits: six hours of match time a day for adults, three for under-18s, a break reminder after two hours and a ₹7,000 daily spending cap for under-18s. The Diwali campaign runs until Nov. 15, and the app only accepts India-region accounts.

Free Fire is back in India as its own app, with limits built in from the first day. Here’s where to get it, what it costs, what the limits do and what happens to a Free Fire MAX account.
When did Free Fire India launch?
Oct. 28, 2026, as a standalone app on Google Play and the App Store, according to Garena’s Oct. 27 statement. Garena says the app is optimized for a broad range of smartphones and runs on India servers with local data protections. It also says the design took in feedback from relevant government stakeholders, and Vaibhav Das Mundhra, its head of operations for India, fronted the statement.
Press reports date the original game’s ban in India to February 2022, in a batch of 54 apps, and an earlier relaunch set for Sept. 5, 2023, was postponed. Google Play showed more than 10 million downloads on Nov. 4, and the App Store ranked it No. 1 in Action in India.
How much does Free Fire India cost, and how big is it?
It’s free to download, and the money sits in the store. Here’s what each listing showed on Nov. 4:
| Detail | Google Play | App Store |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free, in-app items from ₹9 to ₹7,000 per item | Free |
| Age rating | 12+ | 13+ |
| Seller | Garena International III | Garena International III Private Limited |
| Requirement | Android 5.0 or later | iOS 13 or later |
| Download | 390 MB plus modules, one press report | 1.50 GB |
Google Play flags moderate violence, user interaction and in-game purchases that include random items. The App Store’s language list includes English, Hindi, Bengali and Urdu.
What limits does Free Fire India have?
Garena names four: parental consent for under-18s, break reminders, playtime limits and spending caps. Its Playtime Limit FAQ, on the Free Fire India support site, puts numbers on each one:
| Safeguard | Under 18 | 18 and above |
|---|---|---|
| Daily playtime | 3 hours | 6 hours |
| Break reminder | After 2 hours in matches | After 2 hours in matches |
| Daily spending cap | ₹7,000 | No cap |
| Age check | One-time password at sign-up, up to 10 a day | Not required |
| Reset | 4 a.m. daily | 4 a.m. daily |
Only time spent in a match counts, not time in the shop, chat or menus. Once the limit hits, a match can’t start or continue until the 4 a.m. reset, and purchases past the ₹7,000 cap are blocked until then. A player who picked the wrong age bracket can change it once every 30 days. Vaibhav Das Mundhra, Garena’s head of operations for India, also said in an interview on Oct. 27 that red blood and certain other effects are removed or replaced.
What happens to a Free Fire MAX account?
An India-region account moves to Free Fire India. Garena’s Free Fire India FAQ, updated on Oct. 28, says the new app only accepts India-region accounts, and Free Fire and Free Fire MAX show those accounts a message pointing to Free Fire India. Accounts from other regions get the opposite message, and Garena sends them to Free Fire MAX on Google Play or Free Fire on the App Store. Free Fire MAX was still on Google Play in India on Nov. 4. Vaibhav Das Mundhra said in an interview at launch that Free Fire MAX stays available alongside Free Fire India.
iPhone players need one extra step. The two apps sit under different Apple developer accounts, so signing in to Free Fire India with an Apple ID creates a new account, and the old one doesn’t transfer, Garena says. Its fix is to bind a recovery email to the existing account and make that email the main sign-in before opening the new app. VK sign-in isn’t supported in Free Fire India.
What’s in Free Fire India at launch?
The App Store and Google Play pages describe the familiar format: 10-minute matches, 50 players and four-player squads with voice chat. The launch content is a Naruto Shippuden crossover with a Nine Tails Strikes event, the Hidden Leaf Village, a new Ninja Academy, Ninjutsu Scrolls and Reanimation Revival Points. The Nine Tails can force parachute jumps from the plane, and capturing Sharingan: Control lets a squad aim a Tailed Beast Bomb at any target area. The new 8 Trigrams Palm Rotation jutsu repels nearby enemies and blocks shots.

Garena’s Diwali campaign, announced on Oct. 27, runs until Nov. 15. Our Monster Hunter Outlanders release date page follows another big free mobile launch, and our next Fortnite season page tracks a battle royale on a very different calendar.
This page is updated as soon as Garena changes its playtime or spending limits, extends the Diwali campaign or announces Free Fire India esports.
FAQ
What is the playtime limit in Free Fire India?
Six hours of in-match time a day from 18 and three under 18, according to Garena’s Playtime Limit FAQ. Time in menus, the shop or chat doesn’t count, a reminder appears after two hours, and the counter resets at 4 a.m.
Does my Free Fire MAX account work in Free Fire India?
India-region accounts do, and Garena’s FAQ says Free Fire and Free Fire MAX point those accounts to Free Fire India. On iPhone, signing in with an Apple ID creates a new account with no transfer, so Garena advises switching the old account to a recovery email first.
