Hades 2 DLC: why there's no expansion, what the free post-launch patches added and what Supergiant has planned

Hades II has no DLC, and Supergiant Games has added its new content through free patches. Here’s what the two post-launch patches added, where the game stands after its first anniversary and what a DLC would cost.

Is there a Hades 2 DLC?

Supergiant Games hasn’t released or announced a DLC for Hades II since the game’s v1.0 launch on Sept. 25, 2025, on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Switch 2 and Switch. The game launched in Early Access on May 6, 2024, and Supergiant built it out in public through three free major updates before v1.0.

The only paid extra is the Hades II Original Soundtrack at $9.99. Since launch, new content has arrived in two free post-launch patches and the hotfixes that followed them.

What Post-Launch Patch 2 added

Post-Launch Patch 2 arrived on April 14, 2026, the day Hades II reached PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, and it came to every version at once. Supergiant called its extras bonus content and quality-of-life improvements.

Character Prophecies, including those about Odysseus and Arachne, gained new narrated conclusion scenes you can view in the Fated List. Forever Gifting lets you give most Crossroads characters Bath Salts, Twin Lures or Ambrosia indefinitely after forging a bond, with brief new scenes. Characters have new things to say throughout the story, the Training Grounds got new decorations and each Animal Familiar got a new alternate form. The patch also reworked Ares Boons such as Profuse Bleeding and Sanguinary Savor. Five hotfixes followed, from April 15 to July 28, 2026, and they also tune Dream Dives.

Patch 1 and the true ending

Post-Launch Patch 1 on Oct. 31, 2025, focused on the story’s finale. It added new events in the lead-up to the true ending and some after it, raised the number of Underworld clears the ending requires and revised parts of the main true ending scenes. Most changes are on the Underworld route, and the epilogue is unchanged.

The same patch added a Cauldron incantation, Returning to a Real Possibility, that takes you back to an earlier point in the story to see key events, such as the true ending, again. It also made several character Prophecies unfold faster and cut the Kudos cost of many Crossroads decorations, with refunds.

How Hades II grew before v1.0

Supergiant delivered its biggest additions as free major updates in Early Access. The Olympic Update on Oct. 16, 2024, added the climb to Olympus and the last Nocturnal Arm, Xinth, the Black Coat. The Warsong Update on Feb. 19, 2025, added the final confrontation of the surface route and Ares, and The Unseen Update on June 17, 2025, added a Hidden Aspect for each weapon and the Vow of Rivals. The v1.0 launch brought the true ending and 50 achievements.

Hades II on PS5 and Xbox

The PS5 and Xbox Series X and S versions launched on April 14, 2026, at 120 frames per second, with the Xbox version on Game Pass. Supergiant says it has no plans for physical editions of them. On Steam, Hades II costs $29.99. These were the prices on Oct. 19, 2026.

The first anniversary

Supergiant marked the first anniversary of v1.0 on Sept. 25, 2026, with the first episode of Developing Hell II, a multi-part documentary about the making of Hades II, and a full video of Ballads of the Underworld, the one-time orchestral concert of music from both Hades games at London’s Royal Festival Hall on June 27, 2026. Supergiant plans to release the concert as an album. Hades II is also verified for Valve’s Steam Machine.

Will Hades 2 get DLC?

Supergiant hasn’t announced a DLC or its next game. Its anniversary post said Hades II took about five years to make, became the best-reviewed game of 2025 and that its success lets the team stick together and keep making games. Supergiant grew to about 25 people to make it. The original Hades never got a DLC either, and Supergiant’s follow-up to it was a full sequel.
