What is Fate/Extra Record about?
Humanity has found a supercomputer hidden on the moon, the Moon Cell Automaton, which created SE.RA.PH, a digital world where 128 combatants fight for the Holy Grail, a device that can grant any wish. As Masters, they form contracts with Servants, digital beings based on historical figures and heroes. You play one of them, a Master who has lost all memories and doesn’t know why they’re trapped in this virtual battlefield, and you fight through the Moon Holy Grail War alongside a single Servant. XSEED says the story has been revised and vastly expanded, with new layers and characterizations.

Servants and the new battle system
You choose one of three Servants, Saber, Archer or Caster, each with a different combat style, and your partner stays with you for the whole journey. You explore large digital dungeons, and as your bond grows, you unlock new cards and abilities. Battles use an all-new system that combines turn-based combat with deck-building, and both the Master and the Servant have unique abilities that add to the original game’s system.

Voices, rating and PC requirements
The game is fully voiced with all-new Japanese voice acting and has a new score; Steam lists English text along with French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The ESRB rates it T for Teen, for Fantasy Violence, Blood and Gore, Suggestive Themes and Language, with in-game purchases. It’s single-player only. On PC, Steam lists Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB of memory, a GeForce RTX 2060, Radeon RX Vega 64 or Intel Arc A580 and 31 GB of storage as the minimum.
It’s a TYPE-MOON project developed by Meteorise and TYPE-MOON. Aniplex publishes it on Steam, XSEED Games on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles in the Americas, and Marvelous Europe in Europe.
