The RTX Spark robot duck is Hugging Face's $399 Microduck, and new orders ship in 4 to 6 months

The little robot duck from Nvidia's GTC Berlin keynote on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, is Microduck, a 25 cm biped built by Pollen Robotics, the robotics team at Hugging Face. Nvidia says Jensen Huang showed how AI agents running on RTX Spark can train it with Isaac Lab, Hermes Agent and Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B. The robot itself runs on a Rockchip RK3566, so it isn't an Nvidia device. Microduck costs $399 before taxes and shipping, pre-orders have been open since Aug. 27, and Pollen's store gives new orders a delivery estimate of 4 to 6 months.

The robot duck at Nvidia’s GTC Berlin keynote is Microduck. Here’s who makes it, what it does, what it costs and when a new order arrives.

What the RTX Spark robot duck is

Microduck is a 25 cm biped, about 10 inches tall, from Pollen Robotics, the Bordeaux-based robotics team at Hugging Face. It’s the team’s second consumer robot after Reachy Mini, a desktop robot that has passed 10,000 owners. Pollen announced Microduck on Aug. 27, 2026, and pitches it as a robot for AI that acts, while Reachy Mini is built for AI that interacts.

It reached a much bigger crowd on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the end of Jensen Huang’s GTC Berlin keynote. A flock of four Microducks joined Huang onstage and sat down, stood up and even took a nap on cue.

How Nvidia trained it on RTX Spark

Huang’s keynote video showed an AI agent on RTX Spark setting up a course and simulating the robot in Isaac Sim, sending training jobs to the cloud, then bringing the learned policy back to RTX Spark for evaluation before it went to the physical robot. Nvidia names Isaac Lab, its robot training framework, Hermes Agent and the Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B model as the tools behind the demo.

The duck doesn’t carry an Nvidia chip. Microduck runs on a Rockchip RK3566 with an AI accelerator, so RTX Spark is the machine that teaches it, not its brain. Our RTX Spark laptops page covers the models and prices.

Microduck price, colors and where it ships

Microduck costs $399 before taxes and shipping, an introductory price. It comes in four colorways, Cream, Graphite, Lavender and Sky, and it’s the same robot under every shell. At launch, Pollen ships to the US, Canada, the EU, the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Japan and South Korea.

When new orders ship

Pollen’s target for first deliveries is before Christmas 2026. Demand outran that plan: the store says it can’t promise Christmas delivery for new orders and gives them an estimate of 4 to 6 months, first ordered, first shipped. A pre-order placed in late October points to a delivery between late February and late April 2027, by our math.

Microduck specs

  • 15 motors across the legs, neck and head
  • 25 cm tall and 14 cm wide, under 800 g, about 1.7 pounds
  • Rockchip RK3566 with an AI accelerator, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage
  • Wide-angle front camera with a recording light, an 8x8 LiDAR sensor and two IMUs
  • Grasping beak, microphones, speaker, two NFC antennas, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
  • Removable NP-F550 camera battery, about one hour of play

What it does out of the box

Microduck ships with a gamepad and learned behaviors, so it plays before you write any code. It walks with a waddle, sits, crouches, roller-skates, follows a laser dot, picks things up with its beak and gets back on its feet after many common falls. It doesn’t talk: each robot gets its own set of creature-like sounds the first time it wakes up and keeps that voice for life.

Developers get an open-source software stack for robot control, simulation, reinforcement learning and sim-to-real deployment. The open-source label covers the software only: Pollen says the mechanical and electronic design files aren’t open source and asks that Microduck not be called open-source hardware.

This page is updated as soon as Pollen Robotics changes shipping estimates or Nvidia shows Microduck again.

FAQ

What is the Nvidia robot duck?

It’s Microduck, a 25 cm biped robot from Pollen Robotics, the robotics team at Hugging Face. Four of them joined Jensen Huang onstage at the GTC Berlin keynote on Oct. 21, 2026, after a demo of an AI agent on RTX Spark running the robot’s training.

Did Nvidia make Microduck?

Hugging Face’s Pollen Robotics team makes it. Nvidia’s part is the training demo: AI agents on an RTX Spark laptop, with Isaac Lab, Hermes Agent and Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B.

How much does Microduck cost?

$399 before taxes and shipping, an introductory price that covers all four colorways.

When does Microduck ship?

Pollen targets first deliveries before Christmas 2026. The community ordered so many robots that the store gives new orders an estimate of 4 to 6 months, on a first ordered, first shipped basis.

Can I still pre-order Microduck?

Yes. Pollen Robotics' online store takes pre-orders for all four colorways: Cream, Graphite, Lavender and Sky.

Does Microduck have an Nvidia chip?

It runs on a Rockchip RK3566 with an AI accelerator, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Nvidia hardware comes in on the training side, on RTX Spark laptops and in the cloud.

What can Microduck do out of the box?

It walks with a waddle, sits, crouches, roller-skates, picks things up with its beak and gets back up from many common falls. It ships with a gamepad and can follow a laser dot.

How long does the Microduck battery last?

About one hour, depending on use. It takes a removable NP-F550 camera battery rated at 2,600mAh.

Is Microduck open source?

The software is: the SDK, simulation, reinforcement learning training and sim-to-real tools. Pollen says the mechanical and electronic design files aren’t open source.

Where can you buy Microduck?

At launch, Pollen ships to the US, Canada, the EU, the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Japan and South Korea, with more countries later.
