Boston Dynamics Atlas price and release date: booked for 2026, more customers in 2027
Boston Dynamics hasn't announced a price for Atlas, and you can't buy one for your home. The product version of the humanoid robot was unveiled at CES on Jan. 5, 2026, and went into production right away, but Boston Dynamics says all Atlas deployments for 2026 are already committed to Hyundai and Google DeepMind. It plans to add more customers in early 2027 and is starting with a select number of businesses that apply through its sales team.

You can’t buy Boston Dynamics' Atlas for your home, and the company hasn’t announced a price. Boston Dynamics unveiled the product version of its humanoid robot at CES on Jan. 5, 2026, and started production immediately. But it says every Atlas deployment for 2026 is already committed, to Hyundai and Google DeepMind, and it plans to add more customers in early 2027.
How much does Atlas cost?
Boston Dynamics hasn’t said. There is no price on its website and no online store for Atlas. Businesses that want one fill in the Get in touch form on the Atlas page, and Boston Dynamics follows up with qualified companies; it says it is starting with a select number of early adopters.

What the company has said is that Atlas was designed to be cheaper to build than past humanoids. The product version has significantly fewer unique parts, and every component is designed to work with automotive supply chains. Hyundai Mobis is set to supply its actuators, the motors that move its joints. Boston Dynamics also says most customers should earn back their investment within two years, as with its Spot robot dog and Stretch box-moving robot.
When can you get Atlas?
Not this year. Boston Dynamics says all Atlas deployments for 2026 are fully committed, with fleets going to Hyundai’s Robotics Metaplant Application Center in Georgia and to Google DeepMind. It plans to add more customers in early 2027.

The Atlas product page lays out what comes next. First, Boston Dynamics works with select customers to teach Atlas new skills, including part sequencing, machine tending and order building. Then it scales up those first deployments and adds more early customers as Atlas becomes more widely available. Hyundai says Atlas will be deployed at its Georgia plant by 2028, with wider global expansion planned by 2030.
Atlas specs
Atlas is built to work alongside people without safety fences. When someone walks within a certain distance, it pauses and waits for them to pass, and it has padding and few pinch points. It can be sprayed or wiped down, and it connects to factory and warehouse software through Boston Dynamics' Orbit platform, with barcode and RFID scanning.
Boston Dynamics says Atlas can be set up for a new task in less than a day, and once one robot learns a task, the whole fleet can use it. Its partnership with Google DeepMind, announced on the same day as the product version, brings Gemini Robotics AI models to Atlas. On Oct. 1, 2026, the company showed a new hand for Atlas with four fingers and 13 degrees of freedom, up from 7 on the previous gripper, with a more dexterous thumb and pressure sensors across the fingertips and palm.
Where Atlas is working now
Hyundai is Atlas' first customer. Boston Dynamics tested Atlas at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia in fall 2025, its first deployment. On Sept. 21, 2026, it opened the Robotics Metaplant Application Center there, outside Savannah, where Atlas robots are being trained to prepare automotive parts and place them in the right order for assembly. By 2030, that work is set to extend to component assembly.

In 2027, Boston Dynamics also plans to start exploring uses for Atlas in other industries. It says it’s in talks with existing Spot and Stretch customers in manufacturing, aerospace, semiconductors, logistics, food and beverage, and life sciences. Atlas has also appeared in public: in July 2026, it delivered the match ball to the referee at halftime of a World Cup round-of-16 match at New York New Jersey Stadium.
