Phantom Blade Zero release date: Oct. 28 in the US on PS5 and PC, a day before the rest of the world

Phantom Blade Zero is less than two weeks away. S-GAME’s kung fu action RPG launches on Oct. 28 in the US, on PS5 and PC, after a 50-day delay from its original September date.

Sony and S-GAME give Oct. 29, 2026, as the global launch date, with an exception: in the US and select regions, the game comes out a day earlier, on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Steam’s US store shows the same date and says the game plans to unlock on Oct. 28.

S-GAME hasn’t published an exact unlock time yet, for PS5 or for Steam, and it hasn’t announced a preload date either.

The date moved once. S-GAME announced in early June that Phantom Blade Zero would launch on Oct. 29 instead of Sept. 9. In a letter to players, its creator explained that the extra 50 days went to upgraded character models, reworked environments and keeping the look strong even without ray tracing. Phantom Blade Zero is one of the bigger fall releases on our list of upcoming PS5 games, landing between Modern Warfare 4 on Oct. 23 and GTA 6 on Nov. 19.

Price, editions and pre-order bonus

On Steam, the standard edition costs $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $69.99. Pre-orders opened in mid-August on Steam and the PlayStation Store.

Pre-ordering unlocks two items early: the Treasure Basin accessory, which raises the Remnant Dust drop rate by 10%, and the Legacy outfit. Neither is exclusive, since both can also be earned by playing.

PC requirements

The minimum specs are an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 with 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8GB. That targets 1080p at 30 fps with upscaling turned on.

The recommended specs are an Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB of RAM and an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT, for 1440p at 60 fps with upscaling. Both tiers need Windows 10 or 11 and an SSD. The Steam version has full controller support, including DualSense.

What kind of game Phantom Blade Zero is

You play as Soul, a warrior framed for the murder of Soul’s own master and left with 66 days to live after a wound to the heart. Hunted by former allies, Soul travels through the Wulin, the game’s dark martial arts world, to uncover the conspiracy behind the killing. S-GAME calls the style kungfupunk: classic wuxia cinema mixed with mechanical prosthetics, industrial ruins and rock music.

Combat is about dodging, deflecting and countering in one flow. You can unlock more than 30 main weapons and 25 Phantom Edges, secondary weapons often taken from defeated enemies, and you can reforge a weapon to get your materials back if you change your build. Side quests can open new story paths.

You also pick the difficulty. Wayfarer mode is for players who mainly want the story, Hellwalker brings smarter, more adaptive enemies, and Sixty-Six Days is the hardest. Kung fu star Donnie Yen has been the game’s creative consultant since 2023 and plays Mó Yuan, Soul’s father, through facial and motion capture. The game is single-player, with full English and Chinese voice acting and 15 languages on Steam.
