Street Fighter 6 costs 60% less on Switch 2 until early November. Here’s what the Switch 2 version costs, adds and plays like online.

When did Street Fighter 6 come out on Switch 2?

On June 5, 2025, the same day Nintendo Switch 2 launched. Nintendo’s store lists it for Switch 2 only, and it’s rated T for Teen by the ESRB. Capcom says Street Fighter 6 has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide across all platforms, as of June 11, 2026.

Nintendo’s US eShop sells the standard edition for $39.99, and it’s on sale for $15.99 until Nov. 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. It comes with the 18 launch fighters, including Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, Jamie and Kimberly, and the World Tour, Fighting Ground and Battle Hub modes.

Does it have crossplay?

Yes. Nintendo says you can brawl online against players from other platforms in smooth 60 fps. Online play needs a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, and Capcom says its online-only content needs a Capcom ID. Nintendo’s store lists online play for up to 16 players.

One limit: the Dynamic control type works only in certain Fighting Ground modes and can’t be used in online matches. Classic and Modern controls work online, and Nintendo says you can use all three control types on Joy-Con controllers in tabletop mode.

What’s only on Switch 2?

A handful of modes. Nintendo lists Local Wireless One on One and Avatar Matches as content exclusive to Switch 2, plus two Joy-Con party modes: Gyro Battle and Calorie Contest, where the player who burns the most calories wins. The game also supports amiibo, the touch screen, surround sound and 120 Hz output on compatible TVs.

It’s a big download. Nintendo lists 63.3 GB, nearly a quarter of the 256 GB of internal storage Nintendo says Switch 2 has.

Which edition should you get, and is there a physical copy?

The Years 1-2 Fighters Edition costs $59.99 and comes with 26 characters and 20 stages. It adds the Year 1 fighters Rashid, A.K.I., Ed and Akuma, the Year 2 fighters M. Bison, Terry, Mai and Elena, and four extra stages. Nintendo’s US store sells it both digitally and as a physical edition, also at $59.99.

The Year 4 Character Pass is $29.99 and the Year 4 Ultimate Pass $45.99. Year 4’s Yasmine arrived on Aug. 3, 2026, and Arjun on Oct. 13, 2026, and Nintendo’s store lists both for Switch 2. Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series is due in early 2027, followed by Bosch in spring 2027.
