Resident Evil Requiem DLC: where story DLC stands, the free Leon Must Die Forever mode and every paid add-on

Resident Evil Requiem has no story DLC, and its biggest new content so far is the free Leon Must Die Forever mode. Here’s what Capcom has added since launch, every paid add-on and its price, and where a story DLC stands.

Is there a Resident Evil Requiem DLC?

Capcom hasn’t released or announced a story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem since the game launched on Feb. 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Switch 2 and PC. Capcom hasn’t confirmed reports of an upcoming DLC, including one starring Ada Wong, and Requiem’s playable characters remain Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy.

What Requiem has instead is free updates and cosmetic add-ons. The biggest free addition is Leon Must Die Forever, and the paid content is costumes, filters, weapon skins and music.

Leon Must Die Forever

Capcom added Leon Must Die Forever free on May 8, 2026. It unlocks automatically once you finish the story and is a fast-paced action minigame, separate from the main story, where you clear numerous stages as Leon while unlocking exclusive enhancer abilities. The goal is to make it to the end alive and defeat the boss within the time limit, and there are several difficulty levels, including an extreme one for the most confident players.

The same update added adaptive trigger, vibration and motion sensor support for the DualSense controller. An update on June 25, 2026, lowered the difficulty of Forever Rank 1 and Rank 2 and strengthened skills such as Explosives Specialist, Throwing+ and Strategist.

Free updates since launch

The March 27, 2026, update added Photo Mode, which you open from the pause menu, along with fixes and cutscene adjustments to better convey emotion. Earlier patches fixed progress-blocking bugs and path tracing performance. Capcom also released a free demo on Steam on May 26, 2026, that covers the opening stages of the game.

What Requiem’s story covers

Requiem is the ninth mainline Resident Evil game, set roughly 30 years after the Raccoon City incident of 1998. Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst with firearms training but no combat experience, faces zombies for the first time, and Grace’s sections lean on tension and limited supplies. Leon S. Kennedy, a DSO agent investigating a string of deaths across the Midwest, brings faster action built on hand-to-hand combat and firearms.

You can switch between first-person and third-person views at any time, and Leon carries The Requiem, a custom-made assault revolver with a symbolic role in the story. Since Leon Must Die Forever builds on Leon’s side of the game, it’s the closest thing to new Leon content Capcom has released.

Every paid add-on and price

The Deluxe Kit costs $14.99 and adds Grace’s Dimitrescu and Film Noir costumes, Leon’s RE4, Apocalypse and Film Noir costumes, Apocalypse and Film Noir screen filters, four weapon skins, the Mr. Raccoon and DSO Emblem charms, the Raccoon City Classic audio pack and the Letters from 1998 files. Grace’s Costume: Apocalypse, the pre-order bonus, sells separately for $2.99, and the Original Soundtrack costs $12.99.

On Steam, the game costs $69.99, and the Deluxe Edition, which adds the Deluxe Kit, costs $79.99. These were the prices on Oct. 19, 2026.

How Requiem is selling

Capcom lists Resident Evil Requiem at 8 million units as of June 30, 2026, on its list of best-selling games, level with Street Fighter V and ahead of Street Fighter 6. Capcom’s next sales update comes with its results for the quarter that ended on Sept. 30.

Will Resident Evil Requiem get story DLC?

Capcom hasn’t announced one. Its two previous big Resident Evil releases did get story DLC: Resident Evil Village got Shadows of Rose in the $19.99 Winters' Expansion in October 2022, and the Resident Evil 4 remake got Separate Ways for $9.99 in September 2023. Expected price for a Requiem story DLC: about $14.99, our estimate, between those two.
